  1. Thanks guys, Sorry for the late reply but between work and school I barely have time to think. Thanks for the beers Dave. Sorry I had to miss out on the shooting but the learning has to come first these days. Now if I can just get off work tonight and put down a few beers I will be golden.
  2. Thanks for the info. I will have to give this a try.
  3. Do you have any tips or tricks that you use for reloading the brass for a shotty?
  4. Luckly I do have a single shot .410. I was only posting the Magtech brass info incase someone did want to use it and was saying it would be less expensive in the long run to make your brass and use it that way.
  5. I found this info online and thought I would share the wealth. Here are a few sights that talk about reloading brass shotgun shell casings and one that tells you how to make your own casings out of rifle cartridges. http://www.endtimesreport.com/410reloading.html This is some real good info http://site.mawebcenters.com/lolosportingg...gtechbrass.html Site about handloading Magtech brass. Hope this helps someone out but it has me debating on getting a Saiga .410 before the 12 just for reloading purposes. And since you can get some of the brass mentioned for around $30 per 100 rd
  6. I see you got the same "Do something wrong and you go here" speech and old guy points at pic of Levenworth on wall speach I got when I went thru Armorers school on Ft. Campbell. Is it still 2 old guys 1 white and 1 black? And did you get the one about "Most of you will go to the funny farm" - well that one is true as I saw quite a few guys go to the looney bin over being a armorer. But don't fear as I did it for about 2 1/2 years without going to jail, losing anything or having any weapons blow up. And the headspacing thing you basically take the weapons to your MSB and they do it and s
  7. Your .308 is looking alot different than when we shot it way back when. She's all perty and shiny now... Hope it's still treating you well. I'll try to pull my head out of my ass and give ya a call sometime.
  8. What can I say about the 10 Round mags... They are real, I have held them loaded them and shot the shit out of them. They are a F-ing blast to shoot Me and Cobra shot about 100 rounds or so thru the 10 rounder and loved every minute of it. They were very well made and top notch. No sharp edges or anything sticking out to catch on clothing. I will let him tell yall all the little details but I have to say this did not help me with the "I need to wait to buy a Saiga" fight. For the first time I had ever shot a S-12 it was a treat to be able to test out the 10's. Oh
  9. Thanks for the info G O B. I figured that may be why you had recommended silicone but was not sure.
  10. The promag 15 Rounder does not work well at all. Some guys could get it to work with just 10 rounds but that kinda defeats the purpose. It's either the 10's or the drum when it is ready.
  11. After reading this I thought of something I wanted to ask. If you used something like silicone that is still pretty flexible like what they use for movie masks and molds and kinda layered it with just a little lead shot wouldn't that help to dampen the recoil as well. I know the extra weight will help but wouldn't the silicone help to absorb some of the shock. Not sure if it would really help but wanted to check.
  12. Yeah I am pretty fond of mine and look forward to getting the ATI stock, Barrel Shroud and maybe even sending it off to tony for a Compensator. Get a few drums and some backup mags and you have a very inexpensive SD weapon. And I am sure the zombies would not like it either.
  13. Congrats. Looks like a fine piece of machinery you got there...
  14. There is actually a guy on the Hi Point forum working on making and sellin the soumi drums welded to one of the mags for the 995. So far he has them right at about 90% reliable. So yes there is a hicap mag in the works.
  15. Hey guys, I know there was a thread here a few months back about the 995 and the ATI stock so figured you all would like to see what is up with them... All the pics I am going to post are either off of the Hi Point forum ( http://hipoint.7.forumer.com/ ) or off of the retailer that makes the part. Here is one of the guys on the forum's 995 with the stock, pistol grip and barrel shroud and the link to the thread where he was doing the grip installation: http://hipoint.7.forumer.com/viewtopic.php...710&start=0 This is the guys website who is making the shroud with some p
  16. Thanks guys, I may order some tonight and see how it does on some of my rifles during hunting season.
  17. Thats good to hear. I hope that your daughter will be ok. If someone did this around my neices they may have ended up in a body bag, my brothers have hot tempers and as cool as I am most the time that would have pissed me off. Hope everything turns out ok.
  18. Duck is not in season in NC and it is Illegal to kill them out of season. Call the game warden and he will take care of it. I am more afraid of forgetting to do something right when I am in the woods and getting cought by a Game Warden than getting a ticket from a Sherrif any day. Them wardens are sneaky. Plus it is Illegal to fire in the direction of a residence or building. Here is alot on the hunting/license http://www.ncwildlife.org/fs_index_04_hunting.htm Probably has the # to the Game Wardens too.
  19. Well I picked up my CZ-50 tonight. Did a real good cleaning and streched the mag spring a bit. Now it is feeding the top round when the mag has 8 in it using Fiocchi FMJ's. I will probably have to order a new spring though. It has the Lion over N about a stamped 52 on the slide. The slide has the CZ seal and the 7.65 in circles to either side of the Czech name. The barrel and slide have matching SN. The SN starts with 729XXX. On the frame it has no markings other than under the slide on the left hand side. It says made in Czech and Has what looks like a import stamp that looks to r
  20. Thanks guys, I will probably get some to try on my guns and see how it goes. If I like it I will use it on my S-12 when I get it. Thanks again.
  21. Has anyone here used this product http://www.eezox.com/index.html It is supposed to be a all in one cleaner and dry film lubricant. The site states that it will hold up over 150 hours in the salt spray fogger test. I was thinking of trying this and I wanted to know if anyone here had used it before I make a purchase. I prefer to hear about something from someone who has actually used it as opposed to a "Testimonial" on the owners site. When I get a S-12 I want to make sure I have the best cleaning agents possible. Do you think this would work good in it.
  22. Went to the range and shot the CZ-50. I need to get alot more practice and some more mags. The walther mag it had did not feed at all. The other would feed fine as long as I only put 5 rounds in the mag. If I put 6 or more it would jam. I don't know if the rounds are not sitting correctly or what, once I get it to the house I will have to play with it and see whats going on. Of the 100 rounds I put thru it I had 1 FTF. May have been a pad primer as after I jacked the slide again it fired fine. Still need to order some spare firing pins and will try to find a forum that has info on the C
  23. Well I did not get the Makarov today. Probably gonna get it at the beginning of the month as the shop does not allow partial payment. I did get the CZ-50 as a plinker and for a start to my collection - start small and end big... The cartridge is 7.65 and from what they told me that is a 32. Is this correct? I want to be sure before I put any rounds thru it. I still have to go get the permit which takes about 5 days so it is still at the shop and I will be shooting it this weekend. It needs to be reblued which I will probably do after I get it. Any recommendations as to what else I may need to
  24. I was looking at a local gun shop and saw 2 pistols that I wanted to ask about 1. A East German made Makarov 9x18 pistol @ $220 2. A CZ-50 in 7.65 @ $138.00 What do you guys think about these pistols and is the price and ammo availability/price worth buying one? If you were going to get one of the two which one would it be. Thanks
  25. Thanks, I think when I get the cash I may have to try a few of the paint jobs out. I may try to make my own guides first tho. Matt
