  1. The large size slip-on LimbSaver works great on the stock S-12. Adds about an 1" to the LOP which works great for me. Steve
  2. I'm the original poster. I'm not missing any facts. I know about 922r. I've known about 922r for a long time. THANKS for the input on 922r, everyone. I still know about 922r. But the question was not about 922r issues. I even stated that in the original post. It was a question about folding stocks for unconverted Saigas. I never stated any intent to put one on any Saiga, just which folding stock people thought best. Thanks for the information about the Saiga folding stock and the Ace folding stock.
  3. Neither will get me thrown in jail for asking questions. I appreciate everyone trying to save my soul, but I'm not looking to be saved. Again, I'm merely asking a question for subjective opinions about folding stocks for uncoverted Saigas. Nothing else. I know about 922®. I'll certainly ask questions about 922® when it's necessary to what I wish to know. I'm not trying to be a hardass about it. I have noticed in the past a reluctance to discuss anything related to after market products for uncoverted Saigas (anything less than a complete conversion). I also notice that many peop
  4. I've had good success with the ScoutScope Mount. Easy to install. Well made, you can take off the scope/Red Dot and re-mount without losing zero. I went to a Red Dot on one of my Saiga just to try it out and it's a permanent fixture now. Steve
  5. Any differences between the Ace Folding stock for the Saiga at $185.00 and the Saiga made/imported folding stock as sold by AIM for $120.00? Is the Ace worth $65 bucks more? Not interested in converting the Saiga now. Not interested in 922r issues. Just looking for which folding stock is better/worth the money. Thanks. Steve
  6. The aftermarket folding stocks that are available for unconverted Saigas, 922 issues aside, are they any good? With three unconverted Saigas (shotguns and rifles) it would seem that to have a folding stock option for all the Saigas models could be a nice option. Being able to go from the standard stock on the S12 or 7.62 x39 fairly quickly without worrying about the trigger group is a positive if the stock is built well. I always prefer sturdy to stylish. Has anyone tried them out? I believe that RAA and Ace have such stocks. If it is truly a well-done and well-made product, it see
  7. LimSaver Small fits tight. If you get the medium-small LimbSaver it will also work with SKSs. Either will do a good job for you. It will add about an inch to the LOP, but that will probably be a benefit for you. Steve
  8. I use the LimbSaver slip-on, Large. Works great, easy to get on and off. Fits all non-converted Saigas. Adds to LOP too and gives a great non-slip surface. I have long arms and the additional LOP (about an inch) makes a big difference to me. That's as important as the recoil reduction. I have Limbsavers slip-ons in all sizes from small for Mosin Nagants and Swiss K31, medium small for SKS, to large for Saigas, Garands. I prefer slip-ons because there's no need to do any work on attaching a permanent recoil pad. While more expensive than permanent recoil pads, the ability to tak
  9. I have the Sagia 12 ga. and two Saiga 7.62x39s, all unconverted. I bought Limbsaver Slip-on Recoil pads (large) just to add to the LOP. I have long arms (shirt-sleeve size 35-36) and most European guns are short for me. Really helps a lot and the 12 ga. recoil is certainly less, though it wasn't bad before. Also bought medium-small pads for my SKSs and again, it helps the LOP as well as less slip on the shoulder. Also keeps my right thumb away from my nose. Thought this may be of help. Steve
  10. Excellent mount. Well made-solid lockdown. Used blue Locktite after checking for squareness of mount to receiver. The Ultradot 4 30mm Red dot did fine. Due to weather only able to sight-in at twenty-five yards. I prefer the smaller dot (4). Extrememly bright in sunny weather. Eleven different intensities of brightness. Rings held in place with blue locktight to rail. Cheek weld just slightly higher than with aperture sights. I'm well pleased with the results. I'm trying the scope now on an SKS using a ScoutScope mount there too. I consider the mounts as money well sp
  11. You overpaid a little, particularly if you still had to pay taxes and a background check, but that's OK. However, I believe that you got a used gun there. If it was sold to you as new, take it back and have the guy knock off about a 100.00 or so in the price. Kepp all your paperwork. If the dealer doesn't make a settlement offer, you may have a good case for fraudulent selling practices, either a civil or crimnal complaint depending on your jusrisdiction. But your gun isn't in new condition regardless of when it was made. Steve
  12. Using an AK SCoutScope Mount and an Ultradot Four 30mm red dot. Should get to the range tomorrow and sight-in. Mounting and securing both mount and scope were easily done. Retain ability to access action. Center of bore and low mount position=more traditional cheek weld. I think this could be a very good combination. The ScoutScope Mount is very solid. Steve
  13. Is it known whether or not any additional magazines will be available in high capacity? While I want one in 30-06 to go with my M1, a three shot magazine isn't of much use to me. Any thoughts? Steve
  14. I put the Williams sight on my Saiga 7.62x39 yesterday. Easy to install. Be sure and get the sight made for the AK. There are two elevation screws in the package. You'll need to use the longest one. I'm going to the range tomorrow to sight-in. I like peep sights with my older eyes as I find it's much easier to get on target quicker. Regards, Steve
