  1. The "built-in bullet guide" is in reference to the tab at the front of these, the mags are unmodified. If you've got a Saiga 223 with no bullet guide these should work with no modification on your part. I'll edit main post for pics. As for the shipping, I'm using the USPS flat rate boxes for these. The small box is ~$5 and it would hold one of these mags, if I'm selling these out 1 at a time I'd like the buyer to pick up the cost for that. If I'm selling all of em to one person I'll eat shipping for that. Sorry if there's confusion there, I'll edit the original post to clear that up. If yo
  2. I have 6 lightly used SGM Saiga 223 30 rd magazines with the built-in bullet guide for sale. For use in Saigas without a bullet guide installed, if you have a bullet guide you can dremel the built-in guide off of the mags. Each magazine has had ~100 rounds put through them, minor cosmetic wear where the mags make contact with the gun, they function flawlessly. The rifle that used these now uses AR magazines so I no longer have a use for them. Asking $20/each + shipping or all 6 for $100 shipped, or we can do FTF if you happen to be in Northern VA. No sales to CA,NY,MA,MD,NJ. Will accept P

  6. I have definitely been thinking of getting one of those for my WASR more so than my .223. I want to keep my WASR as pure as possible, but I really don't like the rear sight. But the .223, I could definitely be fine with getting away from a traditional AK. Does the Krebs rear sight seem to have any draw backs? I've heard the thickness of the ring impedes seeing objects around a target at a good distance? When looking down the sights the ring actually overlaps the shroud (maybe not the right word, the round bits around the front sight) perfectly so I wouldn't think that it would obscure a
  7. I can't speak for the tech sights as I haven't used them, but I did recently replace the rear sight leaf on my S223 with a krebs peep sight. I've only been to the range once since doing this but I much prefer it over the stock rear sight leaf. The aperture is a bit bigger around than on my AR, but that isn't a bad thing IMO. As Stryker mentioned in his post, installation can be a bit of a pain but once it's on it isn't going anywhere. Added benefit is that it doesn't do anything to mess with field stripping the rifle, dust cover still works the same as it always has.
  8. E-tac/GoGun has a whole subforum because they're AWOL and don't respond to their customers, I'd hardly call 1 thread out of line. Also, if you really want the thread to die, quit posting and bumping it.
  9. I have an idea, we can post "no mentally unstable people allowed" signs on places, then the crazies won't go in there and cause problems.
  10. I saw a bumper sticker the other day that reminds me of this. "If you can't see fit to stand behind our troops, feel free to stand in front of them". Maybe this hotel clerk should get the next tour of duty and gain some appreciation for what that man sacrificed for her to stay safely here on American soil. As for the hotel chain, they just made my "do not do business with" list. Administrative leave? Screw that, should've fired her on the spot for treating any customer that way regardless of whether they're disabled/veteran, no "investigation" needed. The fact that the customer is a disab
  11. I've got a clearance for my work and have never even had a slight delay when purchasing firearms. I didn't own any guns before getting the clearance, all of the purchases happened after getting it. The last transfer I got the guy at the store commented that I was the first person he had seen NOT get delayed that week, he jokingly asked if I was in good with the BATFE folks. Another purchase happened at a gun show, I gave them the paperwork and they told me to come back in 15 minutes while they did the background check. I came 15 minutes later and asked if it was done, he replied with "Yours w
  12. Yeah, he said it like he almost expects the career fairy to come by and drop one in his lap for him. Guess he'll find out that careers require more effort than picking up a welfare check, although maybe he figured that out already and that's why he is where he is. I also liked the double-standard that came out in there. The one guy said he was voting for Obama because Obama's black, if I ever said I was voting for someone because they're white I'd be called a racist.
  13. My understanding is that they are birds raised in captivity for the sole purpose of shooting them. They aren't pest birds or being hunted for food, although I suppose they could eat them afterwards. While that's not something I would do for fun, if you want to do it on your own land I don't see a problem with it and you should be free from idiots with drones harassing you about it. Pigeons are nothing more than flying rats, I don't care how they came into existence you're OK shooting them in my book.
  14. +1 for this. I was in the "I don't think I'm gonna convert it" camp for a few months after I got my Saiga 223. I did eventually convert it and it is a totally different gun. The Tapco G2 is much better than the factory trigger group and having the pistol grip in the spot that it was designed for is awesome, the gun is much more natural to handle. If it's $20 to ship the gun back and maybe you get it fixed vs. $60 to convert it and definitely get it fixed (plus all the other benefits of converting) I'd say the conversion is a no-brainer.
  15. You can use Google Translate as a proxy as well, doesn't draw as much attention as actual proxy sites. Get to Google Translate, enter the URL and tell it to translate from German to English, it works even if the site is already in English. I did this all the time at school, since the addresses you're actually visiting are translate.google.com addresses some web filters won't pick up on it. Of course if you do this Google is watching everything you do...
  16. Might want to read up here: http://www.vsp.state.va.us/Firearms.shtm I looked through there and see nothing illegal about what you're doing, but check for yourself. I'm no lawyer, but I do live in VA. My roommate used to have a hatchback and would go to the range with his Saiga rifle and a few handguns regularly. On one trip to the range his car broke down and actually caught fire, he had to empty all the guns out onto the side of the road. When the police and fire department arrived they put the fire out, never mentioned anything about the several guns he had just sitting there even thou
  17. I'm shooting a Saiga in 223, my roommate has the AR. After how badly it was jamming his AR he sold the rest of the Wolf to someone (he told em what was happening, the guy seemed pretty sure it would run OK in his gun) so I don't know if the oiled-up Wolf would've run in his AR. After seeing it run in mine he seemed to think it would work fine but he didn't want to take any chances. As for the lube, in the Saiga I just sprayed down the chamber with some break free CLP and scrubbed out the inside as best I could, the rest of the internals just got sprayed with it as they weren't dirty enough
  18. So I went to the range yesterday and the steel cased stuff ran fine. I cleaned the rifle before i went and made sure it was lubed up, I also lightly oiled the ammo that was having the problems. Shot through ~150 rounds of it without a single problem. I've got a couple hundred rounds of it left, I'm just going to lightly oil that stuff before I take it out to the range. After I'm done shooting that stuff I'm going to just buy brass going forward.
  19. It's sad that the other kid died as a result of this, but he did pick the fight. Punching someone in the back of the head is a bitch move, if you're going to bully someone and pick a fight with them you should at least have the balls to punch them in the face. Sounds like the kid getting bullied did everything he could to avoid a fight too and got forced into a situation where he had no choice but to defend himself. I bet no one at that school fucks with this kid again.
  20. I used to be very left-leaning when I was in college (only a few years ago). I think it has a lot to due with the fact that a lot of college students haven't yet had to really earn anything in life. Either mommy and daddy paid for it, or they have a loan that they don't have to worry about yet (at least that's what they think). Since they aren't paying taxes anyways what do they care what the tax rate is? On that same token, find the college students working 40 hours a week to pay for their schooling and see if they're on the left. Once I left school and the gravy train from mom and dad e
  21. College liberals are some of my favorite to talk to, they tend to have the "wealthy people are evil and I deserve some of their money" mindset. Them: It isn't fair that some people are wealthy and have more money than they could ever spend while other people are homeless and starving. We should tax the wealthy more to pay for social programs. Me: You're in college. Do you study hard and prepare for your tests? Them: Yes, I attend every class and study. Me: And how do you do in your classes, you get good grades? Them: Mostly, I get A's and B's. Me: And how about your classmates, do the
  22. So back in October my roommate and I split a 1000 round case of Wolf 55gr Steel Cased .223rem ammo. Both his AR and my Saiga had no problems with this ammo on our first couple trips to the range. We hadn't been shooting in awhile so we went this last weekend, neither of our guns will run this ammo reliably anymore. Both our guns had the same problem, the first round in the magazine would fire fine, the casing ejects and the next round gets chambered. This round would fire, however the casing wouldn't eject and actually got jammed into the opening of the barrel when the next round tried to
  23. If you've got $150 you can do a basic conversion if you've got some DIY skills. That is going to be the biggest improvement that you can make to this rifle, the factory trigger is awful and the hunting stock that it comes with feels goofy imo. Hit up Carolina Shooter Supply, you can get a basic conversion kit in your price range. They also have videos posted on how to do the conversion, watch those a few times and get an idea on whether you're comfortable doing it or not. If you've got a dremel and a drill and know how to use them you can probably handle the conversion. As a side bonus
  24. Whats interesting about this is that guns are already banned on VT campus and they were before the last shooting. Not even with a concealed carry can you have a gun on campus. I don't know what other rules they think they can put in place to stop this, although I'm sure they'll come up with some ridiculous plan anyways. It's almost like people out to do bad things don't care what the rules are...
