  1. Early on I decided I wanted to replace the factory sights on the S12. Dovetail rear sight was easy to remove, but the front sight on the gas block - different story. I won't have a sight that needs to be welded. I like having options. I love the ghost ring setup that came stock on my Weatherby, and found the Saiga ones to be sorely lacking. I quickly discovered there were no good solutions (for me) which did not require a rail, and options for a rail over the dust cover were few. When I saw the Titan, I knew my search was over. The H&K sights work well for me - for now. Bonus points fo
  2. H&K sights on my Titan, and 3/4" cheek rest on the CTR stock. I really like the setup. Vortex SPARC should be waiting for me when I get home from NYC next week.

I have an AFG2 on my AR-15 and like it a lot. I'll most likely go for the larger original on the S12.
  4. 2011 2-port for me as well. I haven't messed with the ports yet, but did clean up the internals. Cycled low brass from the shoulder 100% of the time, but FTE from the hip. Most likely it was on the edge until I pushed it over by adding a Titan rail - FTE from the shoulder about 35-40% now. I'll be adding a third port, testing, and go from there.
  5. I took mine off, and yes - only two ports. One was not entirely clear when I got it (new) which is why I took it off as soon as I discovered how. I really don't have any problem with FTE unless it's low brass shot from the hip.
  6. I've been waiting for the winter rush to die off and like you Pauly, think summer would be a better time to send mine in. That's my busy time of year for business, and I still have the AK and AR to take up any "extra" range time.
  7. I have 2 ports in my 19" barrel and it reliably cycles low brass after my "tune up". I plan to add a third port at some point because it has still problems with low brass if fired from the hip. Most of my problems went away after cleaning/polishing the rails, bolt, and hammer. As said above, you will be the judge on if the weapon works the way you want it to. Lots of good info in the stickies on how to work out the kinks.
  8. I also used the CSS trigger guard - like it
  9. Got an email today from Cameron with the tracking number. Looks like I may be putting a Titan rail on the Saiga this weekend.
  10. Patiently waiting on my quad rail as well. Only a couple more mods to make, and my S12 is looking better with every upgrade.
  11. More than I had anticipated. I made the mistake of buying a "converted" model. After quite a bit of research here, I ended up stripping it down to the bare receiver and redoing everything (didn't have to move the trigger group forward again, but replaced it). I plan to buy another, but this time I'll start with a blank slate and do it myself.
  12. I just installed these on my S12 a few days ago. I searched the forum for suggestions, but there didn't seem to be a consensus. So I shot an email to Greg. He replied most people make the mounting hole oblong (it isn't by much - do a little with a 3/16" bit and check the fit). I didn't really want to grind out the front of the grip where it contacts the guard, and "fixing" the mounting hole worked great. Whilst researching, I see there are other grips for sale that come with oblong holes, so that made the most sense to me. So far, no problems at all after dumping 100 rounds downrange this past
  13. Have to admit I was a bit disappointed with my first trip to the range with my "new" S12. Wouldn't cycle for anything. After several days of consuming the collective wisdom on this forum, I was able to remedy that for the most part. Now it will cycle low brass from the shoulder, but not yet from the hip. Last thing I still need to do is pop the gas block off and modify the ports (only 2 on this 19" barrel and 1 was originally plugged). Yeah, I'll be buying a second one to tweak out.
