  1. That's exactly the kind of setup I'm going to use, just the one ACE makes that replaces the whole rear trunnion, in fact it's already on order, And as far as building an underfolder goes, not on only NO, but HELL NO, not that there's anything wrong with an underfolder, I just can't stand the cheek weld, or should I say lack thereof. Link to ACE block I'm using: http://riflestocks.com/store/product61.html Although I do have one of these laying around: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/240518/arsenal-inc-side-folding-aks-74-style-busttstock-assmebly-ak-47-ak-74-stamped-receivers-steel-
  2. Thing is, I already own the Sig brace (bought it for another project and I'm waiting on parts for it), and plan from the get go is an ACE block, not a back plate, as I said I'm not too crazy about the amount of thread on the back plates, noe do I want to worry about screwing up the heat treat on a $600 pistol. And when my paperwork finally comes back (it's been 3 months already) I plan to use the ACE side folder hinge, bolted to their back plate, with one of their stocks.
  3. So, I have an M92 Pap, I'm waiting on my form 1, I got an idea, plan is to put an ACE stock on it, but I'm not crazy about the guys that drill and tap the back of the receiver for 2 screws and screw on an AR stock adaptor and call it good. What I'm thinking is to put an AK block on the thing and go from there, seems to me like it'd be a stronger attachment, well, if Ido that I can install this SIG SB15 brace and KAK buffer tube I have laying here for an upcoming AR pistol build and play until my form 1 comes back. What say the masses? Will it work?
  4. If you wouldn't mind I want in, and I'll return the favor if I win it.
  5. Trust me, I will, waiting on a reply from Rifle Dynamics now, but then again I've been waiting on it for 3 months now, and nobody can tell me if the Saigas use a 45 or 90 degree gas port.
  6. i am wanting the block Rifle Dynamics sells with the HK front sight cast into it. They say 100 on their website
  7. Ok, red jacket it is, it looks like you're basically wanting the DMR with a different stock. I'm pretty sure if you called the shop Will would do it. And sorry about that Tony, didn't realize you weren't doing anymore rifle work.
  8. oops sorry about that then, they did when I checked a few days ago.
  9. yup it's not that hard. and you'll save a ton, otherwise, Red Jacket or Tromix.
  10. yes I do and have done it lots of times with home builds. but want to not buy a $100 gas block and have it not work.
  11. I 2nd about needing to headspace, didn't mention it as I figured the OP already knew that as he's confident enough to try a home build to start with.
  12. sorry it took so long, but to answer your questions 1. I use a drill press and a pair of V-blocks to clamp it to the table, make sure you get the hole in a groove not a land, sorry, I don't remember what size hole it is and my build manuals are in the shed and we have snow on the ground 2. use a hydraulic press, pretty much the same as pressing your barrel, what i do is drill the gas port hole where it needs to be then the press the barrel, drill the hole for the lock pin, and seat the pin, then press the front sight base, if you use one, most of mine don't
  13. Nearing time to order a 308, have most of my build list in hand and what happens? i go to the rifle dynamics website and see something else i want, the bolt on AK gas block. Question is has anyone used it or even know if it'll fit? gas port location is the only forseeable problem but I don't know if it's a 90 or 45 degree gas block. Who's pressed off their block? Better yet anyone have pictures of one installed?
