  1. heres my semi-auto masterkey, I just got the tax stamp back today and finished the work on the barrel. Stripped the vent rib off, cut it to length, refinished it. I milled the mount out of a M203 forging. It holds 7rds 2 & 3/4in ammo, 5 in the tube, one in the gate, one in the chamber.
  2. most shotguns you can use a pipe cutter, that'll make a nice clean and straight cut. I used a pipe cutter a few times, it seems to work the best. I always get an angled cut with saws.
  3. A quotes for you to consider, not that your study will matter. In particular, the working group examined participation in and popularity of practical shooting events as governed by formal rules, such as those of the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) and International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC), to determine whether it was appropriate to consider these events a “sporting purpose” under § 925(d)(3). While the number of members reported for USPSA is similar to the membership for other shotgun shooting organizations,6 the working group ultimately determined
  4. Sniper rifles do have a sporting purpose because everyone I know who hunts big game uses a scoped rifle. They dont need a sporting purpose because the bore dia is smaller than .50 That right there is the most intelligent sentence in this thread. All you self proclaimed bad-asses that put those stupid videos on youtube are doing more harm then you can imagine. If you think that the government doesn't view those videos, your sadly mistaken. Posting vids on youtube is stupid but wont effect what the ATF does. They enforce the rules, the bills passed by the ho
  5. i dont think anyone at the ATF would care. the configuration they are in at the time of import has none of the non-sporting features. I'd think the saiga is safe.
  6. my saigas are registered already, I just dont see the ATF banning the USAS and not banning the saiga sooner or later. lots of shootings, some high profile lately. when will the anti-gun rhetoric start up again?
  7. its a good idea, you could raise and fire the gun quickly compared to a gun leaning aganst the wall/nightstand. Those were just on one of those bashing the 80's shows not too long ago.
  8. its a H&R AUTO 5 shotgun the action spring is arround the mag/tube. The verona SX405 is the same shotgun and you can get extra barrels for $50.00 from CDNN so its a good, cheap, autoloader. Im paying $200 for only a few inches, it'll be cut at 14.75
  9. I'll let you guys know to get that M2 running right... the big spring in the bottom of the reciever on the buffer needs to be compressed. They make a special tool to do it. You have to adjust that to get her running. We had the same problem with brand new in the box M2 machine guns, they fire a few rds and jam. You have to constantly recock until you fix it. Im sure I did an auto masterkey first. I dident use a saiga because there wasent room for your hand on the bottom of the reciever + its too big you dont have any magazine to hold onto. I machined the mount from an m203 forging.
  10. whoops, I already posted on page two.
  11. If molot makes a saiga on an RPK milled reciever (like VEPR) i'd have to check that out. Maybe factory LRBHO and magwell. lots of possabilitys
  12. You'd have a upgraded warranty if tony did it.
  13. call it what you want but you shelled out money for something you wouldent have bought otherwise... I call it panic buying.

    Uh Oh...

this information was posted arround and from more than one source. In a lot of gun forums. If it all originated and was copied/reported from prince i dont know. There may still be truth to it. I just dont gamble, once I knew then i'd take action.

    Uh Oh...

This isent dead yet aparently, from the comments. Joshua Prince, Esq. Says: January 24th, 2011 at 04:38 PM There were about 30-40 other people that attended the town hall. I can't speak for who they are or why they haven't posted online somewhere, but it was stated during the first 45 minutes. Moreover, the NFATCA had a invite-only meeting, where this impending ruling was discussed. That is where I received the additional information that the import ruling would be similar in nature to the 1994 Assault Weapon Ban.

    Uh Oh...

It'd be smarter to locate saigas and be ready to buy or order them as soon as the news drops. Just sayin. You could have still ordered one for $550 reguardless, or got one on GB, or whatever.
  17. I wouldent show people at a range. They aren't law enforcement and I'm not required to show Joe schmoe my papers. The form has your address as well as the address of your dealer all sensitive information IMHO.

    Uh Oh...

Run, panic, OMG OMG OMG they banned saigas. Buy everything. LoL j/k
  19. I remember when these shotguns first came out and were only about $250.00 the Russians started converting ak47s because they couldent sell them. now they are tipping the scales At $500-600
  20. mike12345

    Uh Oh...

There is a supply problem when there is panic buying, nothing is known yet but people are buying out every gun they can find.
  21. mike12345

    Uh Oh...

unless he knows them personally or is a high up elected official, I doubt he just got on the phone and called the director of the ATF.
  22. mike12345

    Uh Oh...

wouldent it be a kick in the pants if the guns were still legal in sporter factory config. but a DD and not for sporting purposes with a pistol grip mod? I'll pay for a tax stamp for a 28ga judge... they better still make those.
  23. mike12345

    Uh Oh...

The ATF knows the game, If they dont reclassify them as DD then people will just buy US made recievers and import parts kits. If there is a ruling about saigas it'll have to be that Saigas are not suitable for sporting purposes to stop import and that will reclass them as DD. The only question is what shotguns are they going after?
  24. mike12345

    Uh Oh...

well thats one option but no stock kinda sucks. If you make it, You'll have to form 1 it for $200 still, it'll transfer for $5
  25. mike12345

    Uh Oh...

the hell... I'll try milling and machining every oz i can off in the hopes of eventualy making AOWs out of them. NY allows smooth bore AOW pistols... It came from the factory with a stock so it cant be an AOW.
