  1. Thnx guys!

Can't say how it handles personally as I haven't had a chance to shoot mine yet, but there is a lot of answers and info here on the XCR forum.

    http://xcrforum.com/index.php

The 7.62 X 39 barrels are due to start shipping anytime now. Soon to be followed by the 6.8 SPC and 6.5 Grendel. Plans are also in the wings for a .308 version.

I've wanted one of these for about two years. Had to eat a lot of baloney sandwiches to finally get one.

I'm due to attend a shoot meet with some friends from the KTOG forum next weekend at the Knob Creek range in KY. May end up breaking the XCR in there. Also taking along my S12 and WM drum. Hoped to have my MD-20 drum to take along as well, but doesn't look like it'll get here in time.

I'll post up and let you guys know how the XCR does as soon as I do some shooting with it. From what I've read about it so far, it is a slick shooting, accurate rifle with less recoil than an AR-15. Has adjustable gas settings from supressor to low pressure Wolf ammo. Keeps felt recoil down and casings ejecting low and 2:00.

Break down is simple and quick with button on left rear side of upper. Breaks down almost like an AK-47. Simple! Rifle stays much cleaner since it doesn't shit where it eats, and clean-up is easy. Folding stock locks up tight. Trigger is a little heavy but crisp, clean, 2-stage. Gets better with shooting. Now if I can just afford enough ammo to make it a 3 lb. pull...lol. :smoke:

  2. Mrs. Clinton reminds me of the Arkansas Surgeons joke on here, as far as PETA= People Eating Tasty Animals. The ammo is not that pricey as everyone thinks, if you'll take the time to search. It's nothing out of the norm to run 1-200 rounds thru my PS90 on any given weekend and maybe that much thru my 5/7 pistol, only bad thing is that it's not me doing most of the shooting. My nephew has found him a new love, my damn PS90, and the pistol does draw some attention at the range. The trigger is so light that if I get it right, I have been asked if I was "bump shooting it". How do you bump shoot a pistol. And I AM LAID BACK, I was having withdrawals last night, so I had to go and take care of the problem, shoot a 30 round mag from the Lusa 9mm, heavy snort of smoke, shoot another, heavy snort of smoke, and the last one did the trick, Termite is one with the world. Sorry if I offended anyone, but I have animals, I keep the up, too good, the cat has her own 3'x4' bed downstairs, the dog aka QUEEN of the house, gets to sleep in the bed with us, 5lb little rotten bitch. My animals don't shit in the neighbor's yard, they don't scratch up their Dodge dually, they don't tear up their garbage, they sure as hell don't howl all hours of the night, they don't run wild thru their land chasing the deer that they are feeding, they don't sleep in the road and expect them to drive around them as if they owned it. The cats that I have capped are wild and mean as hell, but we did use the furs for coats, gloves and hats and grilled the meat, so Peta should be OK with this. BarBQ pussy taste nice. :):):):):)

    ROFL!!! :lolol:

  3. I bought one new and had for about 2 weeks. Ammo was hard to find and it jammed so frequently that I sold it.

That's odd, I never had a single hang up. I only shot a few rounds out of one of them but fired the hell out of the other.

Mine worked perfectly. Fired a total of 210 rounds through with no problems whatsoever. I just decided I wanted something different. Sold it for the same amount I paid. :smoke:

  4. And as far "what kind of place I live in". I live in a fricking new 4 bedroom house on 7 acres out in the damn woods, full basement, because I'm sick and fucking tired off all the assholes that live in the cities and the rat race, and YES, we have running water and don't have to shit off the rail of the deck in the winter time to keep from freezing to death when running to the out house, but I have pissed off it , and have even pissed from the seat of the tractor so I did not have to shut off the bush hog. So I guess "what kind of place I live in" is peaceful, I can piss off my deck anytime I choose, I can piss off my front porch if I choose, I can run or walk naked thru the woods if I choose, but best of all, I can shoot my guns ANYTIME I choose, right out my back door or front door, IF I CHOOSE. I don't have to put up with the concrete, "brick yards", or a neighbors with their ears to their wall, listening to me making the head board of the bed bump the wall. THAT'S "what kind of place I live in", it's MINE, it's PAID FOR, it's MY peace and quite, and I'll protect it, and shoot crows and cats, anytime I choose.

I'm envious man! Sounds like the first place I had. Until I parted with the first Mrs. Badman that is...

As far as the cats go...If the owner wanted it that much, they'd take care of it and keep it out of my yard! :haha:

  5. IMO this is a thread that NEEDS to be resurrected from time to time. Even those of us who are somewhat prepared, can always glean new information and benefit from "reminders" included here.

The differences of opinion are great also. It shows things from more than one point of view. We are all "opinionated" to some extent and tend to exclude other points of view until confronted with them. This is just such a thread. One that confronts us with new and different information. One that prompts us to think outside our usual comfort zone.

All in all a very useful collection of information. I want to thank all who contributed. What I've learned here or been reminded of, may very well save my life, the lives of my family and friends, and/or enable all of the above to live more comfortably no matter what comes. :smoke:

  6. Rock on Mike! I like the look of the clear, but would probably choose smoke in case the clear may begin to show scratches and get cloudy over time.

I think I will hold off doing any mods to my S12 to make the WM drum work, until I get yours. That way I can note the differences in operation before any changes in tolerances are made to the gun. Will hit you with the feedback and details ASAP.

Thanks for the great job you're doing, and even more for not getting greedy. :super:

  7. Mike, I have said it before. Hats off to you for staying in touch with the forum and your potential customers. It may seem like a small thing, but think of all the others who don't communicate well and leave people hanging. You are doing things right by staying in touch, and by taking the time to do things right before releasing your product.

Hang in there man. We are all chomping at the bit, yes, but we respect you for doing what needs to be done. B)

  8. ...I have talked to the WM guys and everything is cool with us as well. I've offered my help to them in the Saiga firearms' tolerance differences. They offered me their contact for the feedlips ( I already had one but it was a truly admirable of them). I even told them that once I'm ready to release my 3 inch design, that I would come out and see if we could work the features into their drums so their drum could handle both 2 3/4 and 3inch ammo. I think we both feel that working together is better than working against.

Good for you Mike. With attitudes like this, I think both of you will do well. And in turn all of us Saiga enthusiasts will benefit.

The two most important facets here are: the product and the people behind them. So far it seems that we have the best of both worlds with each drum and maker. Keep up the good work! I look forward to adding your product to my collection.

  9. Received my drum from WM today, along with a follow-up call from Mike Jr. Drum locks up tight and stable. Very high quality, strong construction! Haven't gotten to shoot it yet, but loaded, unloaded the drum, and locked up in the S12. All's well so far. Will post after range trip. Thanks to Mike Sr. and Jr. for making a quality product and for taking the time to stay in touch. I believe I have a product that will last. B)

  10. did they say if they had shipped out orders yet?

Mike called me this morning and told me that my drum was packaged and waiting to be picked up by the UPS man! Should have it in a couple of days. I respect a man that will take the time to call and keep me updated.

Now I can't wait to get one of Mike D's to go with it! :super:
