Thanks for the info! It is in and the project is done! The bolt clears with no problem. Should I wait to shoot it before i apply the lock tight? Cant wait to get to the range, I have always been a AR guy but have heard so much about how an AK will shoot no matter what you do to it, so I had to get one, The project was really fun and i feel like a have a better understanding of the gun after the convesion. I really like how simple the AK is and how few parts there are. Now I want to get the Saiga shotgun!

Hello, newbie here. I have a bullet guide question, I have heard two different things: 1. Bullet guide (round 7.62 x 39) should be centered 2. Bullet guide should be a bit to the left (facing the front of the gun) This is my final piece and I will be done, but i am nervous about it as once the hole is drilled thats it. So, centered or to the left?

Hello, i am new to the AK and just did a saiga 7.62 x 39 conversion. After putting the rifle back together i noticed the action was a bit rougher than before i did the conversion (only had the rifle 10 days before converting). When pulling back the bolt carrier group the gas piston does not come striaght back in the tube, When going back to battery the black part of the rod (top) rubs on the front top of the gas tube. It does not hang up but is rubbing as the black part enters the tube. It seems like it would cycle but not sure if this is a problem. Anybody have a thought on this?
