  1. Well I didn't find what I was looking for but I did end up buying a couple threaded Makarov barrels. Thanks! Got an out of stock/not getting any more notice from SG. DaGroaner, those barrels were apparently a one time order by Federal Arms many years ago from S. Korea and as supplies were not renewed when exhausted finding one will be catch as catch can. FAC went out of business a couple of years ago and sold their inventory to Century (I already checked CAI doesn't list them). I have one of those threaded barrels on a Bulgarian Mak also. (LOUD)and it is marked FAC.
  2. BB, not serious, Havoc is just trying to prod me into my own wood work project, and I'm just jealous because I only have 1/4" Al. to work with. I'vebeen a "run what you brung" junk yard tech all my life.
  3. Looks good Havoc, your an inspiration to the feeble minded. Your continued use of 3/8 in. Aluminum has me a little worried. Keep us up to date on your mos, well done. bikes
  4. Havoc, looks good, detail, details details. bikes
  5. I hate to throw excrement into this exchange (but it is what I do) so Let me ask this question: Since what this is all about is compliance with federal regs to tickle the BATFEs fancy AND since there's no way to figure out what is going through their beady little minds AND since the BATF has ruled in some really stringent ways; i.e, if you have posession of tools, a weapon and intructions or blueprints on how to convert that weapon to full auto or selective fire that you posess a machine gun that must be registered (even if you haven't put these elements into action) that given THESE circums
  6. Havoc, sorry I didn't get back to you, I've been hanging out with my son before he leaves the nest to move to Denver. HAD to buy another project bike so we've been busy with that. I butchered a couple of the followers before I went off the grid and don't have it down yet. I'm getting closer and will need to armorall the mags before I proceed. If I have a breakthrough I'll post a new thread. BTW two ?s: How is the forearm project coming and did you use 3/4 in. or 1 in. plywood for your stock? Glad you got the package, my pleasure, 40(52 and counting)bikes.
  7. Yeah, Bob , that door breacher is just right if you're trying to get past 6" of oak with hammered iron hardware. Makes you want to check the Kabar catalogue for a Scimitar.
  8. When I saw it my first thought was NAME CHANGE!! : Tonan the Barbarian Rumore. Tony, you have WAY to much available free time. Maybe you should take up Pro wrestling. bikes
  9. I suspect that they are century arms builds from Romanian kits but that's speculation. They will be compliant right out of the box which will be attractive to alot of folks, off the shelf black rifles, what a concept. bikes
  10. Havoc, the stock looks good to me(think of the knot as Cindy Crawfords mole or Lauren Huttens gapped front teeth). I appreciate your cheek rest ideas but 3/8 aluminum?, I guess you found that "bigger hammer." My better half is just that and has seen me through nearly 30 yrs, 2 fine sons, 40 fireams, and 50 motorcycles that have kept us in the same neighborhood as the poor house most of the time. Same mold as your beloved, We are lucky men. Interested in your hand guard when you get it together. You may inspire me to try some wood butchering yet; but since I don't have that big anvil I ma
  11. To late, Havoc already ordered some extras so I'll have half a dozen for you later. I don't even own an AR. You did a great job on your stock but on a scale of custom cedar craftsman down to plywood plunderer I'm about a Hickory Hacker. The only woody Saiga I'm doing is replacing the factory stuff to make a Galaz imposter of my long .308. I've already contracted w/BRG3 for the fore-end and I cut down a Maddi or MISR thumbhole for the butt end. Did you just use shaped aluminum sheet for the cheek rest? That's what I was thinking. How did you "upholster" it? Is it height adjustable? Amb
  12. Interordnance has a front page add in Shotgun News for AK types as above. .223 and x39 are hicaps w/US plastic mags. The .308 is long barrel (SSG97,FPK, PSL format)10rd plastic mags. All have polimer stocks Prices shown but no availability date (I/O frequently advertises items 90days before you can actually get it). I just checked and these rifles are not on their website yet. They might be Century assembled ,I'll check. bikes
  13. The difference being BRG is an artisan producing USmade compliance craftsmanship and what I was offering was probably cut with a chainsaw from Romanian rocket crates bikes
  14. Roscoe. I couldn't find any info on the Surefire mags you asked about, where did you get yours? I asked Havoc308 in the above post about using AR15 followers in the Galil .223 mags and they can be massaged to fit in the Galils, but don't feed well even with dinzags bullet guide. Tell us more about your Surefire mags (source, intended rifle application etc.) Robinson Arms makes a (U.S.)follower to fit 5.45x39 magazines. The 7.62x39 AK mags just won't work from what I've heard, because of case, bullet and feedlips dimensions. Good luck, bikes
  15. Thanks for all the research involved,Havoc. I'll take advantage of the greenies at Midway and get a couple of extras to send to you to replace the ones expended in your experiment. Will PM you or post here with results and get your address so I can repay your kindness. Thanks again, Happy New Year to you and yours, bikes
