Hahah. I actually dont have the rifle in my posession yet. I thought it was a 20 as well. Are these currently availble? I notice on legion usa I dont see them listed.

Can someone give me some insight on what barrel length this is? Id really appreciate it. Im thinking about picking it up but not sure what the length is. Any help would be apprecaited thanks!

I want that brake too! Anymore pics?

I used a different technique when installing the BHO. Instead what I did was install trigger, placed BHO and BHO spring at the end of the axis pin. After I snapped the axis pin in, I used a little hook tool to lift the small end of the spring up and over the ledge of the BHO to create the spring tension. Ive done this a bunch of times now, and takes seconds to do.

Ive bought my fair share of crap from Promag, but it seems like they are trying to make an honest effort to change their bad rep. I have the Gen 2 10 rder, and the quality is much different from the stuff I have previously bought from them. Only issue I had was one time it wouldnt feed while full, but this was when it was new and probably required some break-in. I also recently purchaed a stock kit from promag for my 10/22, very very nice stuff. My recommendation is the new stuff is pretty good, but avoid the old stuff like the plague.

500 rds of slugs and 00 for 100..def a good deal.

Wow those do look nice...congrats!

+1, thanks dwnthehatch! If these go on sale again, hopefully we'll get another heads up. I want to pick up 5 more.

I just recieved my 5 rd magazines from keepshooting, and Id have to say that for im really impressed with the overall quality. I mean when they were on sale for 4.95 each you couldnt beat the deal. Each mag did require some fitting, but after you get the hang of it, the process took about 30 seconds for each mag. When compared to the factory mag you can definitley tell that there is a quality difference (the factory mag is much more robust), but like mentioned above, the quality is not bad at all. I havent tested them out yet, but will give a range report when I get a chance. Anyone els

+1 Its pretty common, and thats why most LPKs have an extra detent spring just for that reason.

First off, do you have a sister? and is she single???? My vote is for a CSS gift card. Let him pick out what he wants exactly, because Im pretty sure he already has a good idea of what he wants.

I was in a similar situation just a few weeks ago; with limited time, tools, experience and me wanting a professional to do the job right the first time. I went down to my LGS and was just about to drop off my Saiga, when the smith informed me it would be 2-3 weeks before he could get it done. I paused for a second, thought about the sleepless nights I would have waiting for my converted saiga to return...I took my saiga home with all my parts, and converted it that same night....its not hard. Being able to work on the Saiga will come in handy in the future if any issues come up.

Thought Id update this thread with better pictures of the almost final product. Just looking for a muzzle device to finish it off.

Congrats! I got mine not too long ago and asked the same question about break in. Take a look at this thread, some good info to get you started. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/72252-new-owner-what-to-do/page__fromsearch__1

Man if the prices drop any lower, i may have to buy another one..

Hahha yep! well not this one, the bike in my avatar is my street bike. I have another gixxer that is used for track duty. I noticed lots of guys on here are also big Sportbike fans too.
-
Thats looking like a decent price! hahah...is that still made by Tromix?

Ah I.C.. and totally understand about needing the best. I tend to do that with all of my two wheel'd toys. After spending 600 on some foot rest, I think I can spring for one of these to see what the hype is about.

Thanks Big-J. 160-200 is just too much for me to justify. As much as I would like to, I think ill go for a more aesthetically pleasing and also cheaper option. Im not too big on the huge brakes anyway.

I may be ignorant, but what is with the high demand for the 8rders? Is it just because of ergos of the 10 and 12 rders are too long and cumbersome?? Especially with the high dollar tag associated with these guys im struggling to get the point. Dont get me wrong I would love to have one, but ordering anything from Russia firearm related seems to be a total lottery. I also noticed that SGM makes 8 rders, but no one seems to care about those?

Ok you guys were really helpful with the handguard choice, which I opted to go with a Kvar style. Now onto the last piece of the puzzle (for now), the muzzle brake. I tried to find a good comparison but was unable to locate one. Which brake is the best available in the US for under 100.00? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated, looking to reduce the amount of muzzle flip as much as possible.
-
Thanks for the info. Im going to try the factory puck and see how the gun does.
-
the hand guard that fits your need would be the K-var "RPK style", that's the one I went with for my SBS, you will also need the hand guard retainer for it, K-var sells it a s a package deal for something like 50 bucks(?) Matthew im really liking your S12, and escpecially the RPK handguard. Im leaning torwards this one because I know of a place locally with 2! Hopefully they have the retainer plate you are referring to. Did it require any mods to install? Hahah yep, stuck in the same boat as you with the NATO length. I probably should have did more research on this stock,
