  1. FSB <Link removed> I've done this swap on a 5.45x39 and it was fairly easy. I'm preparing to do this same thing again on a 7.62x39 and a 223 I've just recently acquired.
  2. I don't see the attraction to these "pistols", I guess I see it as a novelty item. JMO.
  3. I now have two of these stocks that I don't need, $40.00 each shipped!
  4. I have a used M4 stock adapter (commercial size) for stamped AK variants without removing the rear tang. I had it on my Vepr 12 and had to remove a small amount of material from the mount to get it into the thicker Vepr receiver. I've mounter it on one of my Saigas afterwards and it mounts up tight with no play. When the stock adapter is mounted in a rifle there is no sign it that was modified and looks perfect in condition. I'm looking to get $45.00 shipped with payment by USPS money order or PayPal +3%.
  5. I have a Vltor Imod commercial size collapsible stock for sale, it is in perfect condition with no sign of use. I'm looking to get $70.00 shipped, USPS money order or PayPal +3%.
  6. What everyone else said. The reason they say not compatible with Saigas is due to them not having the lower handguard retainer and the correct gas tube. This is an easy fix by getting a gas tube for an AK74 and a bolt on lower hand guard retainer.
  7. You are correct, you will need a bolt on hand guard retainer and a gas tube from an ak74 for the upper. I believe I happen to have a spare hand guard retainer that I purchased from Dinzag and didn't use due to changing my mind on my 16" 308.
  8. I got the stock and hand guards as a set (Choate Dragunov) but you can buy just the front hand guards for about $15.00 with a quick google search.
  9. I like the longer one better as well, I contemplated cutting the barrel back to about 18 inches but decided to leave well enough alone. I painted it with Duracoat ultra flat tactical black and the 16" was done in snow grey.
  10. I decided I needed one in a 16" and another one in the ~21" barrel length as I was chasing two different looks. I'm not sold on the furniture on the 21" rifle and may at some point change it out. I really like the CSS tri-rail on the 16" barrel and may go the same route on the 21" rifle. I finished them off by moving the front sites back threading both barrels to 5/8 -24 and then re-crowning them using tools from Dinzag. The are both sporting Beenie Cooley tactical muzzle brakes which work awesome. I will be putting a decent scope on the 21" for some distance shooting as I borrowed one fr
  11. Any idea of the thread pattern? I would imagine without any work done to the barrel to reduce its diameter it would be threaded in 17x1 or if it has the smaller diameter barrel under the front site block it could be 5/8-24.
  12. I recently threaded both of my 308's, one has a 16" barrel and the other has a 22" barrel. I purchased a JP Enterprises Bennie Cooley Tactical muzzle brake (5/8-24 .750 outside diameter) and installed it on my 16" 308. I took them both to the range last weekend to site them in before re-pinning the front sight. While shooting the 16" with the brake on it, I was amazed at how little recoil there was from it and I was able to stay on target while rapid firing. I switched to my 22" 308 to make sure the front site was properly lined up and holy hell was there a difference in felt recoil. I s
  13. More details on this please? what should the TAT be threaded onto, how far, how soon, etc? I also second the question in reference to what type of pipe cutter was used? The one I have purchased seems too thick and wont cut far enough back. The TAT should be threaded about halfway to the die when starting to cut the threads, as in this simplified drawing:What I did was thread it in a little too shallow, like this: When the muzzle touched the TAT, the next turn caused the die to pull the first few threads off the barrel. After the first two or three threads are cut, I would pull the whole t
  14. I haven't had any problems viewing it from my iPad using Safari nor on my PCs using IE or Chrome for my browsers.
