  1. Do you know if the Romanian PSL furniture will fit a Saiga 308?
  2. All's good since lightly polishing the bolt, no more damaged rounds. I just picked up another 308 yesterday and will be converting this one after taking it to the range to see if I have any issues with it.
  3. After smoothing out that third lug a little the problem is fixed, polished the rest of the bolt while I was at it. After smoothing out that third lug a little the problem is fixed, polished the rest of the bolt while I was at it.
  4. This also happened in the factory 8rd magazine, second round as well. I loaded my CSSPECS magazine with 10 rounds thinking the same thing that the spring pressure was causing this problem but it happened again with the magazine a little less than half full. I guess I'll try to smooth out that corner. On another note, I'm pleased with the construction, fitment and appearance of your 20rd magazine.
  5. I recently purchased an a Saiga .308 and I'm experiencing issues with the bolt randomly digging into the rounds that stack to the left in the magazine. I was using a CSSPECS 20rd magazine when I first experienced this issue. I loaded the magazine with 20 rounds and after firing the first round it didn't get ejected and the gun wasn't in battery. I dropped the magazine and notice the bolt had actually tore a hole in the casing which allowed the powder to be poured out. I removed the round inserted the magazine and was able to fire the remaining 18 rounds without issue. I'm using steel case
  6. Who makes that rear stock on your 308?
  7. I'm not sure of your level of confidence but there is a great tutorial on this forum for doing just this process. I followed it and was able to get through it without any problems. I didn't use a press to install mine, after pushing the fsb on as far as I could by hand and getting it lined up with the rsb I used a heavy rubber mallet to pound it on. My only concern I had before pounding in on was how I was going to brace the rifle as I didn't want to just put the butt of the rifle on the floor out of fear I would damage the rifle. I ended up holding just the barrel of the rifle in my lef
  8. After finishing my 5.45 build I also used the same Dupicolor as mentioned above and it looked awesome. The problem I ran into was using some gun scrubber after a day at the range and some of it got on the receiver. The gun scrubber took some of the finish off so I ended up painting it again using Duracoat. So far nothing I've cleaned it with has affected the finish. Good luck and enjoy.
  9. Why would you leave your rifle outside for two days? Can't say I would, merely making a reference to the results of the test I conducted. I would expect the same results on a rifle the was not cleaned after firing these rounds and for whatever reason left exposed to the humidity for the same period of time.
  10. Thanks Indy. Packaging of the Ukrainian rounds that I purchased. This is what the head stamps look like, not my picture though as I couldn't get a clear image. Test pieces after 4 days of humidity exposure on my covered patio. The control piece showed minor corrosion as expected from the elements. The Golden Tiger piece was identical in appearance to the control piece other than where I fired the primer on it. The Ukrainian piece showed advanced signs of corrosion from the initial post. At this point, I guess the only thing I've confirmed is that the Uk
  11. I've attached the then current weather conditions at the time when I placed the two test pieces on my patio which was late Monday morning. The test pieces were brought back into my residence after 50 hours of exposure to the Florida humidity and the results speak for themselves. Both pieces after primer exposure but before being placed outside. Both test peices after approximately 50 hours of humidity exposure. Notice the impact area on the Golden Tiger test piece (left of center), there is no sign of rust being displayed anywhere in the clip. The initial primer impact
  12. This is my first post to the site and I've used it exclusively for my Saiga conversions. I've recently completed a Saiga 5.45 conversion and started searching for a reasonably priced plinking round. I've purchased Golden Tiger for my 7.62x39 and have had zero issues with it so I figured I would purchase a case in 5.45x39. It was my first purchase from a certain online ammo store so I only purchased one case to ensure I would receive it in a timely manner and not get ripped off. It arrived a couple of days after placing the order so I decided to order some more but found they had sold out o
