  1. Sierra likely lists the Federal 210M primer because that is the "match" primer used in the GMMK ammunition that is well know for its out of the box accuracy and precision. You will find a myriad of threads asking for recipes how to duplicate it. Any large rifle primer should work fine. I have been very happy with CCI large rifle primers in Federal brass with 178g AMAX bullets over both Varget and 4064. Both loads are sub MOA out of a couple different .308 rifles I load for.
  2. I have prayed specifically for you and your recovery this morning Jerry and that God will bring joy to you in this new chapter of your life. Glad you are still here to post. Wishing you a speedy recovery and that your strength fully returns.
  3. Can't wait to see it. In matching up wood tones, you should be able to do and extra coat and heat application to the lighter to match up if needed. Just remember that the color continues to darken with age, (redder and browner) and take that into consideration up front when deciding how many coats. Your work is always nice, I am sure this will be no exception.
  4. KAK brace and Toolcraft BCG to complete a spare parts 24" OAL 5.56 "pistol" truck gun.
  5. I was up in Michigan a couple months ago, and decided to pick a Chevy Camaro RS off the rental lot from National car rental. (Completely unrelated... but if you join their Emerald Club, which is free, you do not have to wait and you can pick anything available on the lot... but I digress) The thought of driving a fast good looking car for a couple of days appealed to me, and I enjoyed the power, and it was fun to drive. Much more so than the boring truck and small SUV parked in the drive way and airport backhome in AL. But I found that after a short while of fun, the car set so low I couldn't
  6. Must be non dimpled FSB and GB. NIB or used in good condition preferred. Will also consider properly converted 7.62 with Bulgarian FSB & GB. ETA willing to trade as well. Have Saigas in other calibers (.308 and .223) already converted that I would be willing to trade as well as other items if interested: PM if interested
  7. I agree. I would put no more money into "beautifying" a glock, that I would put into dressing up a hammer. IMHO the beauty of a Glock is in its function. That said, the trigger can be greatly improved cheaply with a new connector and the 25 cent trigger job on YouTube. It can still be a fun project, I would just recommend focusing on improving the already great function of a solid and reliable handgun, as opposed to focusing on its appearance.
  8. It would. You won't get the lines that you would with the figured maple, but you would still get the color change in the light flecks of the beech where the grain varies in density. It gives the stock a unique "chatoyance" that is tough to achieve with stain. Either way, nice gift and it looks like a fun project. Enjoy.
  9. Are you going to blue or brown it?Don't care whether you blue or brown...both would look fantastic.... Just, please, for the love of all things sacred... promise you will aquafortis the stock! Edited because Apple autocorrect is an idiot.
  10. My suppressed .22 collection consists of multiple rifles and pistols. I have a heavily modified 10/22 that I love. However I recommend an AR based solution for the rifle. The SW MP22 is a good choice, although I also highly recommend one of the Tactical Solutions .22 uppers that mate with a standard AR lower for multiple uses (calibers) I can also recommend the Ruger Mark 3 22/45 Lite (prior to recall) Awesome ergonomics which mimic a traditional 1911. My daughters learned the AR15 and the 1911 .45 from both. In regards to the .22 supressor, I have only one, so I can not compare to others.
  11. Glad you are still enjoying the stock and the rifle. I plan on calling you soon. Kayla just turned 19 and wants jump out of a plane.
  12. My fear is this: As the bill evolves and moves its way through the House and Senate, it is ammended. If national reciprocity becomes federally issued CCP, that is a scary proposition. With the abuses we have seen on the Federal level I can see exorbitant taxation permit fees, and/or ATF interpretation/opinion of the law to restrict carry rights or further other gun control measures. Any provision in this law which would turn over power from the states to the federal government in issuance of permit, better be met with strong opposition. Additionally the law better be written so that there is
  13. Earlier this year, Sportsman's Outlet was selling Henry Golden Boy presentation grade .22rifles where you could specify the serial number with anything alphanumeric. I picked up one each for both of my daughters. They have their names and birth dates as the serial numbers. I will present the appropriate rifle to the first born of each when the time comes. Don't know if Henry still has that offer, but it would be pretty cool to have a rifle as a kid that said "this rifle belongs to me" right in the serial number.
  14. Questions: 1) Why did he do it? Does he always bring that many weapons to the hotel room which had a perfect view of the concert that evening, just in case he flipped out over gambling debt? 2) I don't care how many weapons he had in the room or how many he had at home, or how many rounds of ammunition he had between the locations. Completely irrelevant. What weapon(s)/caliber specifically did he use in the massacre? Where were the guns purchased or how acquired, and what modifications were made to them. 3) How was the room secured and how long after the last shots were recorded?
  15. NBC is reporting he wired $100,000 to the Phillipines last week. She was apparently in the Phillipines when the shooting occurred. They started dating in Spring of 2017. I don't buy any of this story line anymore. No online profile anywhere? No digital fingerprint in this day and age? The only way that happens is if it has been purposely deleted or you live in a shack with no computer, cell phone, or electricity. After reading all the comments of those who knew him, I question if the guy was really the shooter at all, or just the dead body used as a scapegoat. I firmly believe this did not
  16. I will not indulge thoughts of conspiracy theories at this point, but I will say based on the information released so far, this makes absolutely no sense. The amount of planning that it took for this was pretty in depth. The guy didn't just flip out. The guy had to have had a motive, and as of right now, I don't see any that would match this level of evil. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims families and those injured. I am truly sick over this. The last time I felt this way was 9-11. Looking at the general reaction and calls for sensible gun control, it would appear that the con
  17. Stay safe. Praying for you, your family, and Florida. If worse comes to worse and you have to evacuate, we have a 2 bedroom, 1 bath place on 40 acres in Columbiana AL that we will open up to anyone who needs it.
  18. You guys stay safe. Looks like there is plenty more coming.
  19. We forgot bold faced liar, rabble rouser, and piss poor commander in chief. I fixed it. I could go on... and on and on Also forgot single handedly LOST three wars that had already been WON... Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Cold War!
  20. I guess you want me to try to get democrats elected? Because most of what they are for, I am against, and I want representatives who are against that shit too. Edit to add; for some reason you guys are expecting the republicans with only 54 votes to reverse laws that the democrats could only get passed in the first place with 60 votes, and only just barely then. I want to see Obamacare repealed (and replaced with NOTHING) as much as anybody, but a more realistic course is to pick off the most offensive bits of it a piece at a time, and then go for the full clean-up after 2018 when we wil
  21. I feel your frustration. It is going to be brutal in 2018 for the GOP. They have done absolutely nothing. If there are some challenges in the primaries of sitting Republican lawmakers, I would vote for the challengers. The only problem is, when the GOP lose seats in a big way in 2018, they still will not have enough self awareness to understand that it was their inaction on key promises that got them thrown out by THEIR OWN BASE. They still don't understand that it was these very reasons Trump won the nomination in the first place. I am already back to buying cheap and stacking deep.
  22. Agreed. I would do another stamp under my trust if it didn't require the extra hoops to jump through. Honestly, I though we would see some positive movement on the HPA. IMHO, the current crop of Repubs need to be primaried hard and removed from office before the next general.
  23. Everything gun related industry is hurting right now. No threat of ban = lower sales. I am waiting for innovation to take over again. The last eight years equated to if it was semi-auto and held more than 10 in the magazine, it would fly off the shelves. Not so now and manufacturers are going to have to differentiate themselves again. Unfortunately, many of the upstarts may not make it through the down turn. As far as supressors go, I know quite a few that have put down payments on them, in anticipation of the HPA passing. Even had my LGS say if I wanted to get that .45 can I have been thi
  24. I'll just be happy when ABC government agency cannot make law via "rulings". How in the hell does this pass even a trivial Constutional challenge? Oh wait that's right, both sides of the political aisle covet that power once they are in control.
