  1. Thank you. That is correct. Midwest Industries not Midway. I have both the RS and the UTG Pro, and the RS is very nice indeed.
  2. The UTG Pro (not the old UTG) mounts are actually decent. The only side mounts you are going to get lower are the Midway and the RS mounts. I have the UTG pro on a couple of AKs and have been happy with them.
  3. If you are going to keep the Magpul furniture on it and you love it, then I wouldn't worry about replacing the FSB. Remove the current FSB and thread it. If all you want is a decent flash hider muzzle break, then the DIY thread kits from Carolina Shooters Supply or similar vendors here will fit your needs wonderfully. The only reason I would replace the GB and FSB is if I wanted the gun in original configuration. If you do decide to go the Bulgarian route, APEX has them both right now in stock. A little pricy, but they are getting harder to find. Good luck
  4. I have not heard of any 5.45s being factory threaded under the FSB, only x39. If it were me I would replace the FSB and gas block with a Bulgarian. It will allow you to mount the cleaning rod and bayonet as well. Is your FSB and GB on the Saiga dimpled or not? If dimpled, it will make the process more difficult, and you may want to pay to have it done. If they are not, drive out the pins remove the Saiga factory ones and replace with the Bulgarian. The pin alignments should match up. Process took about 45 minutes in my garage IIRC. ETA.. I received the error message too when trying to
  5. Replacement certified copy arrived 3 weeks after sending the request via email. Just thought I would add that as an FYI in case anyone else has a hungry dog.
  6. The RP the Koreans use for overseas delivery is notoriously inadequate for corrosion protection. Evidently they are still working on it.
  7. Hyperfire 24C trigger group for AR SBR lower and YH Phantom Ti 30 cal can: In 7.62x39 and 5.56x45 Absolutely wonderful trigger!
  8. After the initial shock, I was able to laugh about it too. I wouldn't have posted the thread if I couldn't find humor in it. The other purpose was to let folks know that if you lose your stamp or it is destroyed, you have recourse. Just call.
  9. Csspecs has 20 rounders for the V308. They are as well built and reliable as all the other Csspecs mags.
  10. I was prepared for the chuckle on the other end of the line as well. She asked me if the dog was still breathing?
  11. Thank you for the heads up. I purposely cropped out the address, and didn't even notice the phone number. Fixed No, they chew. Sorry to see that, Spacehog! Fortunately it can be replaced without too much trouble. My rescue dog was about 8 months old when I got him last year, and also chewed-up various things around the house. Fortunately it was never anything expensive or important, but it sure was frustrating and annoying for a while! All I can say is to encourage him to chew on his toys as much as possible, instead of other things. Try a variety of items, too. Do NOT get any of thos
  12. Nah, she's great. She is just the equivalent of a 4 year old child. My judgement was the only thing that sucked here. I should have put the stamp in the safe as soon as it arrived.
  13. My final Form 1 finally arrived in the mail after a nine month wait. This was for an AR 10.5" SBR to accommodate one of my suppressors. The form arrived on Saturday. I opened it, placed it on my kitchen table, planning to make a copy and add it to the collection in the safe upon returning home: Eight hours later I return home to this: My seven month old pup decided she needed a piece of paper to chew on, and the seven thousand sheets of homework paper that my kids leave lying around everywhere just wouldn't do. She needed a special piece of paper that cost $200 and 9 months of wai
  14. Thanks Mike. One of the best pieces of information (insight) on new firearms in a while.
  15. No underestimation meant. My point is there is a vast difference between running a gun and shooting a gun. Many people who shoot, do just that they shoot at stationary objects that do not shoot back! I know I struggled with doing basic AR functions under duress.
  16. Looks good! I miss the ole gal! Have you had many issues with fitting the .308?
  17. Let's see him do a mag change while keeping his eyes forward. My guess is he would miss the magwell altogether. It easy thinking your a bad ass while holding an assault rifle. It's another thing altogether to be a bad ass with an assault rifle.
  18. First and foremost...glad you both are OK Chile. I know you already know that the fact that no blood was drawn is worth a thousand CX4s. That said, it really sucks that you have a brand new firearm damaged by crappy ammo. I would contact Beretta for parts, but I would continue to work through the Beretta forum for the solution. It seems like you are getting some sound advice from those with direct experience. After all most of us had no idea how to convert a Saiga before joining this forum. Hope it all works out for you.
  19. Spikes or aero forged lower, aero upper, lower build kit from Palmetto State Armory (with your choice of Magpul furniture.. I like the ACS-L or STR), barrel from US Contractor on Classic, (All six that I have bought from them have been tack drivers.) WMD, AIM, or Fail Zero NiB bolt and carrier, hand guard of your choice. Will be a little more than an entry level, but will also have upgrades that you will pay for later, and it will be a very solid, accurate, and reliable firearm. Good luck in your search. There are ALOT of good options out there and they are just getting cheaper.
  20. Update: It is there to tighten up bolt carrier travel. There is just enough play with the larger tube where I can hang the bolt carrier if I don't rack back and let it fly. Probably wouldn't be an issue with live fire, but would increase wear and tear on the carrier. Play goes away with the factory tube. Back to the drawing board.
  21. Neither are vented at the gas block. Both naturally vent rearward where they seat at the front trunnion. I am beginning to suspect that the ID is smaller with the mini to actually increase pressure on the piston to help with cycling on the 7.5" barrel. If this is true, then the larger tube may allow too much gas to bypass the piston resulting in poor cycling. Only a trip to the property is going to answer that question.
  22. I am thinking more sub $300 Saigas again, unless you are talking strictly shotguns. They are getting much closer to that mark.
