  1. My Saiga .223 throws brass 20+ ft, could the case dents be somewhat related to over gassing?
  2. Did a little informal benchrest shooting with a stock (other than a Barska 3x9 scope) Saiga .223 at 100 yards this weekend. Tried some Tulammo, Amercian Eagle, and some MPS hollow points with laquered cases (all 55 grain). I didn't see any significant differences in accuracy, all grouped between 2-4 inches with the majority of groups in the 3" range. The Tulamo did seem a little cooler than the other two brands. Going to try some Federal 5.56x45 when I can get hold of some and perhaps some heavier bullets...
  3. Thanks Raven! She grew up in a home with no guns, so it has all been an education process!
  4. Somebody correct me if I'm worng and don't take this as legal advice, but I think you need to do some more 922r research before you go popping those 30 round magazines in that unconverted Saiga.
  5. I think I ended up with Weaver's Med High Quadlocks from Wal-mart with a 40mm Barska scope, but I could have gotten it closer if I had wanted to take off the rear sight, or forgo lens covers.
  6. $299 seems to be the mark right now. Mine was $350 out the door after shipping, tax, ect.
  7. From my experience and numerous other posts, you can expect somewhere between 1.5 and 3 moa out of a Saiga .223, with the larger groups coming from Wolf ammo. If you want tack driving sub moa accuracy in a .223, the Savage Model 12FV Varmint Series get good reviews (I havn't shot one yet) and can be found for around $500 (plus optics).
  8. I haven't measured, but the barrel on my .223 looks nothing like a bull barrel, I think the barrell on my Marlin 60 (22.lr) has a larger ouside diameter than my Saiga .223...
  9. How is the trigger pull using this stock on an unconverted rifle? A lot of people complain about the angle of pull with the Tapco pistol grip on a unconverted rifle...
  10. i think i found your problem, get an ak buttstock cleaning kit, it has a front sight tool Thanks! Actually already have one! It came with the rifle, but never bothered to open it, as I was just using my usual cleaning kit...
  11. All the reviews looked okay, and I figured it would be pretty hard to screw up something that simple so I gave it a go. But first time out, the sight tool broke on me trying to screw in the post. The little "wrench" just split wide open. The sight was a little tight, but not frozen, I was able to move it twice before the tool gave way. I figured the sight should be pretty snug to avoid coming loose while shooting. Manged to get the sight pretty close before the tool failed and the clamp still works fine. Is there something else that I could get by with just to screw the post in a little m
