  1. Bought mine from Atlantic. Bought my S12 from them as well. Zero problems. The price is on par or lower than 99% of the places online I have seen.
  2. The short answer is YES. When I purchased mine I didn't know it was regulated. I showed up ready to take her home and clean her. BUT they told me "sorry. come back in 7 days" Since I owned her already I bought some ammo right there (Fiocchi) and put 40 rounds through her. She ran flawless. I had almost no packing goop on her when we unboxed her. So yes they are ready to shoot out of the box. Ideal? No. Ready? Yes
  3. Thanks Nerd. 1000 rounds ordered from the armory. Deal found on gun-deals.com from link above. You guys rock.
  4. Question. I see these are steel jacket. I need to make sure the bullets themselves aren't steel (my range wont allow steel bullets but steel jackets are fine) I Don't seem to see in the decription of ammo where it states the material the bullet is made out of. Sorry if this is a noob question.. But I am a noob. Don't want to buy 1000 rounds of ammo I can't really use. Thanks
  5. This is probably a stupid question. But I'm asking anyway. I've already done a conversion on my Saiga12. Is the conversion the same process for the 7.62? I'm guessing yes since they are both AK style. But figured I'd ask before diving in and screwing something up. I'm turning into a big fan of the AK platform. ARs just require too much maintenance. Thanks in advanced,
  6. I converted my saiga12 and have yet to be shown the secret handshake. I call false advertisement.
  7. I got the crook in. Wasn't bad once I saw Carolina Shooters other video. I ordered the plate as well. Simply because it seems easier to put in and take out if I need to disassemble the gun.
  8. Wow that was fast. That explains it. In the video he used a retaining tab thing. He mentioned the crook but I had no clue what it was. Now to disassemble and install. Thank you sir!
  9. I have NFC what this part is. I did the conversion using the videos from Carolinashootingsupply on youtube. That's also where I bought my conversion kit. In the kit there is this V shaped spring or retainer. There is a picture below. I watched the videos and went step by step. However I don't remember seeing this piece installed in the videos. it's obviously fairly important as there is a picture of it right on the parts in the kit. if anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. I have an email in to carolina... but thought I might get a faster response here. I haven't full
  10. I have a quick question. I am in the process of doing my conversion. I'm the part of the intructions that says to install the retaining plate or shepards crook. But I have neither. Do i need one of these or is it a reliability mod? Everything I read seems to be about the differences. Like use one or the other. But nothing about using neither. I'm not a yahoo, so if I need one I'll order it immediately and wait to finish my conversion. But if it's a reliability mod I'll finish and add it later. Thanks for all the help. Lots of really good info on this forum.
