So here's what I drilled out. When shooting, it seemed that it did allow my S12 to cycle significantly better. I'm still getting around one FTE about every 10 shots now. Better than every other shot though. Ugh. Wheres John Browning when you need him? I want this thing to go at least 5000 rounds without a failure! Is that so much to ask?

I went ahead and drilled a hole through my top rail where the vent is. I'll take it out shooting tomorrow and see if that fixes the problem. I'll post results.

I have been having FTEs like crazy with my chaos extended rail. Like at least every other shot even with slugs and other high brass. I tried many different parts (gas plug, puck, spring, etc.) and even had my ports drilled out by a reputable Saiga gunsmith in my area. I tried reverting back to factory parts (with the quad rail still on) Nothing fixed my FTEs until I tried taking off my Chaos extended rail! With it off, everything suddenly cycled like a dream including the cheap walmart bulk ammo. Would drilling a hole in the side of the quadrail so gas overflow port has more space make a diffe

Lee 1oz slugs....what wads are you using
Turbo.M777 replied to wasrNwarpaint's topic in Reloading and Ammunition
All the lee data says to star crimp so thats what I've always done. Why are you roll crimping? At least with star crimping, I've been using winchester WAA12 wads for a couple of the lee recipes. I just bought some 12s3 wads to try a couple other recipes but haven't loaded them yet. -
That looks badass!! I like how your eotech hood matches too. I noticed your stock on there as the fab defense one. I almost bought one for my Saiga. I didn't because a reputable s12 builder in my area said since its designed to absorb some of the recoil, it would cause cycling issues in an S12 so I got a tromix stock instead. Have you had any issues with yours cycling? BTW I cerakoted my saiga, and It doesn't seem to be any better than duracoat as far as durability goes. It still scratches and wears off. Its not the miracle innovation its made out to be. If you're having scratching or

Saiga 12 Critical Spare Parts Availability Update?
Turbo.M777 replied to HB of CJ's topic in Saiga-12
Dumb. I find it hard to believe that a spare parts market isn't big enough to make any money from. There's a lot of saiga owners out there. Far more than visit this forum. -
Looks like a lot of effort. Cool concept, but not something I would ever want to do. I don't see how it would save much time after considering the time to operate the latches. Pushing the shells in isnt too bothersome for me. Its cool to see other people experimenting though On second thought, I can see how it could save a chunk of time. Still wouldn't do it though

That's awesome. I'd want to go if it didn't cook me. -
Bullshit. I just had some waa12 wads for sale and ebay took it down. WTF. In their message they asked me to REPORT anyone selling similar items! Seriously? They do something to piss me off and ask me to do them a favor and fuck over anyone else selling them. I don't think so. There's a ton of other listings for wads too. I have several pics of my gats on facebook and haven't had any issues.

Margin of error for slugs weight?
Turbo.M777 replied to Turbo.M777's topic in Reloading and Ammunition
Son of a fuck. I have the claybuster waa12 wads. Wish I would of seen this before I bought em online. Its good to have this info now though! Thanks for sharing that. I'll have to find some more fitting wads in the future. But as far as what I have, Are these shells with that buckling still okay to shoot? From your picture, are you saying to put the nitro card in the shot cup, under the slug? (I am also still wondering if 1 oz slugs not being 1 oz are okay) -
Margin of error for slugs weight?
Turbo.M777 replied to Turbo.M777's topic in Reloading and Ammunition
They are cast from lead ingots I got on ebay advertised as pure lead. Whether they are 100% pure, I suppose I can't know for sure. I started loading some hulls and encountered another question; After pushing in the wad and slug, I will only get a good crimp when I finish if I have pushed the wad/slug down far enough that the ribs on the wad begin to buckle. Is this okay, or should they be perfectly straight? Here's a pic of one I cut open after I finished it. -
I just cast about 100 lee 1 oz (437.5 grain) slugs. Most are coming out at around 418 grains. (My scale is accurate). Where do you draw the line to recast or use it? I would assume its not nearly as critical as a rifle bullet is, but I'm new to shotshell reloading.

Saiga 12s are assault rifles!

Why do some of you act like owning the Saiga 12 is some how indefensible? And this <em class='bbc'>'OMG, don't let the ANTI's see what we've got!'</em> attitude is pathetic. It's your fucking right to own it. Plain and simple. If you're afraid to stand up for that right, what's the point of having it? That's the -

Velcro box? What the shit are you talking about? The limbsaver buttpad? Yep, nothing gets by you, the limbsaver. On a side note, what the shit is that terrible looking square on the rear of the receiver? No offense to the guys who have these guns. Ahhh that. Its where the name of the US importer (Knox I think?) was etched off when the ATF stopped importation of S-12s before. Its just rough metal. Not velcro. -

Saiga 12 Converted... but can't decide on sights!
Turbo.M777 replied to buckshotbob's topic in Saiga-12
Chaos rails are designed to accommodate their HK sights. I bought my extended rail with them. I think it's just an Allen screw. I used those as backup, and have a Burris Fastfire III red dot which Im quite happy with. -
Who sales bolts and bolt carriers? I've bought most of my stuff from CSS and I haven't seen them on their site.
