  1. Finally found a topic similar to mine and I have come to the conclusion that..... I put the hammer in backwards........ Noobness confirmed.
  2. Howdy guys, Just finished my 7.62 conversion and I seem to have run into a problem with the hammer. I got it all finished up and wanted to do as much trouble shooting on it tonight before i took it to the range tomorrow. When I pull the bolt back it gets hung on something (presumably the hammer) and doesn't go forward. Now I know your supposed to pull it back and let her rip, but when i do that, the hammer the doesn't stay down. As soon as the bolt clears it, it shoots up as if the trigger was pulled. If I manually push the hammer down, it does catch and stay down until the trigger
  3. Howdy. Went out to shoot my new Saiga this morning before i convert it (kit will be here next week). Only put about 50 rounds through it, but i noticed that the handgaurd was already starting to heat up pretty well. In the pic thread i noticed quite a few that have some holes drilled in the handgaurd. Is that done to alleviate the heat and does it work well? Eventually I'll be buying a handgaurd/raid system (looking at the Chaos rail right now) but in the mean time I'd like to have something keeping it from getting super hot. Any advice on that would be great. Thanks.

  5. Howdy. First time poster here. Just picked up my new Saiga 7.62 this afternoon at the local gun shop (they got them back in stock quick after Christmas). I am wanting to do a conversion on it and looking at kits to get. I would like to eventually do a full digital white camo paint job across the entire rifle (trying to be different). In the mean time though I'd like to try and find a white conversion kit so that it'll have that white look and make the paint job a bit easier down the line. I've looked around at some of the vendors posted around here and elsewhere, but I can't seem to fi
