  1. My son bought a nice 12" sharpening steel a few weeks ago. Today, I had every knife in the kitchen razor sharp in about 15-20 mins (I had never used one before). We'll see how well the new knives hold up but, I do like the thick blades. Cleaned out our knife drawer. The only knives I kept were "Paula Deen" branded. Very similar to our new set.
  2. I felt both extremes on the tarmac, in the Air Force. -30 in Alaska and +100 in Idaho. No fun either way.
  3. I have a CETME .308 with less than 300 rounds through it. I think I can see a crack on one of it's welds. I'll have to strip the finish to see it better. It shoots nice. Low recoil due to being almost 10 pounds. The wood, profile and a $299.99 price tag sold me mine.
  4. I looked at the early ones but, the barrels put me off. I'm pretty sure the early barrels were untreated. It sounds like a nice find!
  5. Two days ago, I found a 5 round Cetme Mag in the bottom of a pair rubber mag pouches that I purchased from the Goodwill... 10 years ago! Some rust but, still functional.
  6. Unlined steel barrel? I guess you could keep it wet in oil. I have one steel barrel that loves rust. Automotive abrasives are your friend. Most guns in WW2 were bare steel. Shoot the crap out of it and let us know! The price sounds good! Keep it oiled.
  7. That's funny! Everything happens for a reason.
  8. Noone should pretend to understand the mind of God. We do know his plan for mankind, as a whole. Bad things happen so that God can show his power and glory.
  9. Load for 98.6 Deg F and keep the ammo close to your body, until you shoot it (assuming you stay warm) Just teasing.
  10. Why would powder differ if you keep it near the same temps? Maybe, I'm missing something? I do not reload, not yet.
  11. I wouldn't pursue it, unless you think that you would shoot it more. If you do it, I would put a heavy thumb-stock on the back too (more stable repeated shots). I have never been happy with glass on guns or airguns.
  12. I forced myself to read a story they put out about the US soldiers that died in West Africa. The story was detailed and not very political. At the bottom of the page was a plea for donations. It looks like their liberal shit slant on politics may finally end them. Liberal Google (owner of Youtube) is facing boycotts from everyone for not being "fair". Everything is coming unglued. It's a fun time to be watching left-wing politics.
  13. I prefer loose layers. Thinner clothes, the closer you get to the body. I wear a field-jacket liner under a hooded-flannel, under a cotton canvas coat (wind and fire-resistant), when I'm outside (20-70 deg.) Any good boots should do depending on the season. Buy big sizes and layer socks, for colder weather. Some rubberized gloves are better than others. I spent about 20 years of my life working outside year-round. It was freedom, IMHO.
  14. Link to the video or audio? I heard some audio of the gunfire slowing down and knew it wasn't a true full-auto. My daughter's best friend was in the crowd. Her mother had just gone back to the hotel.
  15. T-mobile, $160 a month for 4 lines, only one has data (not many good choices up here, north of Seattle, WA). It also covers our unlimited VOIP home phone for $10. Wife's family is in Hawaii. They talk almost every day.
  16. The Republicans need to start controlling the "narrative", convincing the public that they are the sympathetic party that cares and protects the people. Ban the bumpstock and then shut down the conversation about the 2A. Give the DACA families green-cards (but not citizenship) and then build a massive surveillance apparatus on the border.
  17. So it only took 1 hour and 12 minutes for police to break down his door. The media isn't bragging about that. We know two families that were there. They're all okay. A few saw bullets hit nearby while they were hiding. The perp also had a pilot's license, according to one news source.
  18. I've gained a little respect for the bald-faced hornets last year, after watching them pluck the spiders and yellow-jackets off our property!
  19. Hurricane 8.1% ABV (25 ounce), $1.49 in Washington State. Supplemented with a nice glass or Shiraz, Pino Noir, etc. (@13%+ ABV).
