  1. I don't think anybody said this yet, but I read an article that seemed to be legit.

It seems so that they could make rules concerning them, the FAA brought many of the drones into their 'aircraft' definition.  So shooting at a drone is just as illegal as shooting at a 747, if I understood this right.

Also, what the heck are you people doing in your back yards that you are so worried.  If I aim a camera at 1/2 of Central Park with a wide angel lens (standing on my feet) and you are in MY photo, doesn't mean I'm taking a photo of you.

So if I had a drone with a camera and flew it up over my house to take a picture, why do you have to think just because you can see it its looking at you?  Your neighbor in a two story house can see in your back yard.  If he mounted a camera on his roof, do you have this urgent urge to shoot it?

  2.

Costs about  1900€ = 2500$ new from my dealer. They have been up for sale for about 2 years here in Germany.

Can you please find out if you dealer can get and sell a polymer furniture set and the front site/flash hider, my UK hasn't come up with either and I been waiting since April last year. Thanks

  3. The front site/flash hider combo seems so rare and last one on Gunbroker sold for $495.

I've have one on backorder with Rusmilitary.com since April 2013

So I saw on a airsoft site, the front site section.  Though its not steel, being on the barrel I'm thinking it can still handle the heat.  For the flash hider, use the Tabuk style one from Nodakspud.  Would require threading the barrel.

Not going to shoot iron site, scope only(which I already have).  So this could complete the look.  I even have a 4inch 1x14 barrel extension, threaded approriately on both ends, so if OD was right and the 'blacks' match, could give it proper length appearance of SVD.  The sight post could even be mounted to the extension.

If I thread barrel, I can try the extension with the tabuk (have one on another gun) to see if accuracy or performance are affected before I mount sight.

So my question is (beside telling me anything I didn't think correct about above), if I thread barrel, official flashider/site combo arrives, original barrel length is still same and when I slide it over, the threads will just be covered and there isn't any negative side effect?

  4.

I can get a chinese one for $40.00 free shipping. its also the reciever mount type. i was hesitent about buying one. but after personaly trying one out (thanks to hilljack) im sold. rock solid steel construction. fits perfectly. whats not to like? yes i realize its not russian but you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference.

Can you PM me a link so I can get a $40 variant? Thanks

  5. Finally took my setup out to the range to sight in and see what I could get her to do. But let me first state, I let 4 other people shoot my gun, sharing the awesomeness of the Dragunov (strangers, not friends).

I used the 100 and 200 yard range. Here's the best I did at each distance.

A three shot group at 100 yards.

10 shots at 200 yards at 8" circle

    IMG_2213.JPG

The extra holes outside were because I stuck the sticker on a previously shot target

  6. Here what I think I know:

    1) setup target at 100m

    2) aim at bulleyes, shoot

    3) adjust to impact point (both knobs as needed)

    4) shoot, should be good (perfect world)

Loosen turret outer screws, adjust elevation middle turrent (with numbers, not top dial) and set to 1 (or is it actually zero?) and then tighten screws.

Similar process for windage ( this one is to zero)

So if now I rangefind to 400 meters, I just set top dial to 4 and use top chevron, aim shoot (right?)

I know the 2nd chevron is for 1100 meters, but what should the elevation dial be on? 0 or 1 or 10

I'm never going to shoot 1100, but I want to explain it right if ever asked

  7. Oh, just shot it first time last Wednesday! So, so pleased. I sighted in at 50, then 100 yard and then decided, what the heck 200 yard, since range master was willing to golf cart me the distance in Texas 99 degree heat. I'm not any kind of great shot, little shakey, but I put a 30 round mag into the target and at least 20 were the the 6 inch circle, and the other ten were within 2-3 inches.

They did extremely well together, I highly recommend. I have the big straight back rubber eyecup, so eye relief was perfect. Mine scope is the 1000m version, 1-10 on top dial, not 1-20.

What surprised me I was shooting 2 rifles, Vepr 223 and Saiga 5.45 with a 3x9. I was recording scope settings. On the 5.45, every time I changed distance, I had to adjust elevation, but on the 223, it stayed the same at 50/100/200.

I'm thinking of getting another if can find for under 100.

    Tiger
