  1. with e-clips maybe not, you could put them on after everything is installed as long as you can reach the area. however if you are using the aftermarket axis retaining plate that replaces the Shepards hook, then yes, you have to mod the BHO becuse you have to push the safety end through the hole in the aftermarket axis retaining plate.
  2. anyone else have this problem? my Safety does not have the holes or divots that stop the safety from going to far up and down. it's a PITA to move from safe to fire, can I drill some divots, grind a divot? suggestions?
  3. well, I got my Saiga-12 converted, added a scorpion pistol grip, the modified tromax.tapco G2 FCG, Tapco stock, looking good
  4. I just ordered a limbsaver part#10111, it's the only one that the holes match up on my tapco stock, I'll post it up when I get it sanded and fitted.
  5. the stock is 11 inches long including the butt pad, this is NOT counting the part that goes up into the receiver. that is 11 inches of stock from back of receiver to end of butt pad.
  6. well, I went back and bought my local stores last two 5.45 mags they had, I could not believe they were still on the shelf.
  7. went back to my local store today, they had 4 promag 5.45x39 mags still on the shelf, I bought 2 of them. will get the other 2 if they are there next paycheck.
  8. kind of a mute point for a 5.45x39, their is not much "kick" to worry about, I have a standard bulgarian muzzle break and their is very little kick with just a touch of muzzle rise when I fire.
  9. try your local gun stores, mine still has them in stock, not many around here have a 5.45x39, the sad part is I only had the money to pick up 2 at $24.00 each.
  10. how many you want? I'll work with you, I'll throw out a number, how about 8-10.
  11. I have a stockpile of good 30 round USGI 223/556 AR-15 mags, I would like to trade for either Saiga-12 Mags (10 round or drum) or AK74 5.45x39 mags, I'll trade 2-3 of mine for one of yours depending on what you got. lets deal
  12. any interest in trading for 12 used in good condition (some possibly new inbag) AR-15 30 round mags?
  13. Dang, already out of the 10 round mags, but I picked up a couple of 8 round ones. thanks
  14. been thinking, maybe I will do a custom front handguard like the one in this pic, (the gun in front).
  15. Ouch, and they are sold out of everything, guess I'll be doing a black gun like many here PS, I guess I am going to have a wood stock set for sale.
  16. well, what to do, i bought a Saiga-12, ordered wood funiture from ironwood designes, then realised I dont know how to mount the handguard to the gun? any idea where to get the metal pieces to do that? I can't find those pieces for a saiga-12 anywhere. thanks in advance.
  17. well, I am getting ready to chop the barrel off, and I want to make sure I have the facts for legal purposes barrel must be 18 inches from bolt face. this 18 inches can include a Muzzle Break if it is permanantly attached. must be welded or silver soldiered to be considered permanant is this right? Thanks, I have the skills to do the labor, just not sure on the legal stuff. thanks in advance
  18. Thanks for the replies, and I just like to stockpile ammo for just in case, I have 7,000 rds for my Ak-74 1,000 rounds for my 308 2,000 rounds of 22 LR 2,000 rounds of 22 magnum etc etc. and I want to stock a thousand rounds or so of good buck shot loads.
  19. well, I finally got my Saiga 12 and would like to start stockpiling some ammo, I have heard these guns dont like the light loads much, so I was wondering what Buckshot brand and loads work well with a factory gun. I know there is no "perfect" round that works in everyones gun and I may need to do some tuning. but I would like to get some ammo that is well in the realm of working good in this gun. and then tune the gun to it. thanks in advance
  20. Well I finally got a Saiga 12 today it cost me $729.00 out the door. I have already ordered a Ironwood designs furniture set. and all needed conversion parts along with a shark muzzle break and a couple of other cool parts. all in all, I am over the $1000,00 mark but I should have a sweet gun. pics when I get it together.
  21. well I have really nice 5.45x39 gun I have converted, but I only have this one, so if it breaks I'm done what spare parts should I have on hand just in case? I was just going to pick up an IZ240 as a backup gun but everyone is sold out. thanks in advance
  22. I have found 3 local in my town, cheapest is $729.00 out the door price. the two others are $699.00 plus tax or $762.00 out the door. ouch, I think I will pull the trigger one one tomorrow.
