  1. I prefer 8- or 9-pellet reduced recoil (see also "Law Enforcement" or "Tactical") 00 buck loads. They pattern tighter and kick less than about anything else out there, and I like the lower pellet count; remember that every projectile that leaves the barrel has a little tiny lawyer attached... fewer is better from that standpoint, especially if there are innocents downrange. Interesting link... http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/bot20.htm
  2. This is a quote from the following link. Do you suppose that the difference between #1 & #00 would be negligible in a real life scenario? I know I wouldn't want an ass full of either one, but all the same would one perform better? "Number 1 buck is the smallest diameter shot that reliably and consistently penetrates more than 12 inches of standard ordnance gelatin when fired at typical shotgun engagement distances. A standard 2 ¾-inch 12 gauge shotshell contains 16 pellets of #1 buck. The total combined cross sectional area of the 16 pellets is 1.13 square inches. Compared to the total c
  3. It is easy to see where everyone's mind is today and yesterday. Can't say as I blame you since it is beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the magazine category. Hat's off to Kevin and all involved. Which brings me to my question. We all have to feed our Saiga's something. What do you feed yours for practice, target and defense. All the same? Different? Why? Do you choose #1 buckshot since it has the greatest wound potential? Or do you choose #00 Buckshot because it is the traditional round? Or have you filled your magazine with slugs? Again, what is your reasoning? Wher
  4. Yes, I ordered from them as well but have not been charged yet. Maybe your are #1 in line.
  5. In the $50 neighborhood you should sell a butt-load of them. Last four Ebay 8 rounders went for $150+. Somebody had the bright idea to list one for $189.00 plus shipping and insurance. 8 or 10 round is irrelevant to me as either works for my needs. Hope that answers your question.
  6. That top one is exactly what I had in mind. Looking forwared to playing with it. Hot diggety!
  7. Talked with Gunsmoke this morning and wonder of wonders - They don't know a price as of yet and the mags won't be in for about a month. They don't know whether they will be plastic or metal. Frankly they weren't very familiar with something that they had advertised. Sound familiar? Have a great day.
  8. True, True. Can the 5 rnd mags be purchased wholesale? Is it a simple $35 x 2 + ???
  9. My interest would lie in you providing the mags, doing the work and shipping them to me. What would it take for 8 or 10 round mags for you to feel satisfied with your profit? Gimme a ballpark at least. Somebody needs to make a little on the shortage. Everyone seems to be waiting to see what the other guy is going to do from what I have read. Even Oleg is in a holding pattern to see how things shake out. Just think, you can be a mover and shaker. LOL (trying to appeal to your vanity)
  10. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=57929765 You can find them at the above link. Care to elaborate on how they work differently and why one would want to change? They still have to come out of Russia.
  11. I am definiitely in the newbie/lurker position. Tony is currently working on my S12 because of this site. I heard about Tony and found him via this sight. I also was convinced to call him based on the many glowing reports from those who had done business with him here. He was more than able to hold his own in visiting with me about my vision for my gun; he had an easy going yet informative style that I liked. Bottom line to me is that I wouldn't have been nearly as impressed with a page that appeared to be bought as I was with seeing the general concensus of many patrons. Just another th
  12. A few days ago there was some discussion of plastic hulls deforming when left in the magazine for extended periods of time. Barnaul was discussed as an option because they manufacture a metal hull 12 gauge round. I looked around for these and had some difficulty locating a source. I finally found a Silver Bear Shotshell with 1 1/8oz #7 shot at - http://consumer.gzanders.com/itemdetail.ph...emnumber=ACA127 This may not represent a total solution but it is a viable alternative. The top round would have to be #7 shot (not necessarily your first choice) metal hull shell, followed by your f
  13. It is my understanding from reading the Brady org page that - Assault weapons are commonly equipped with some or all of the following combat features: * A large-capacity ammunition magazine, enabling the shooter to continuously fire dozens of rounds without reloading. Standard hunting rifles are usually equipped with no more than 3 or 4-shot magazines. * A folding stock on a rifle or shotgun, which sacrifices accuracy for concealability and for mobility in close combat. * A pistol grip on a rifle or shotgun, which facilitates firing from the hip, allowing the shooter to spra
