  1. As someone who has both types of mounts, tws and the RS side mount, I love them both for different reasons. My saiga 308 has a tws because it's a solid mount ,sits the lowest and I'm able to get a good cheek weld which you can't do very well with a side mount. I also like having the peep . I'm very happy with my groups . I use a vortex pst 1-4 power and it wont even fit on a side mount without sticking back too far . I have the same scope and mount on one of my arsenal's For the side mount I love the RS mount with my aimpoint pro and I'm able to cowitness , I don't think it's a good choice for
  2. "They for the most part get a gun buy some ammo hit the range and shoot at a target so that they feel they can operate the gun . That is it. They do not do it because they want to, they do it because the feel they have to. A lot of them are women." Sorry that's bs I know when I go to the range it's about having fun , friends get together , work on their guns , dial in their optics , improve your skills .laught , take pics , head back to get a drink and something to eat and talk about the day. sometime women are there for fun also. Life is too serious , laugh a little
  3. "The only reason to have a gun like this is to kill a man God forbid" Man lighten up , laughter is a good thing being uptight isn't . Well I found the video funny , he simply mocking all the liberal stupidity , if anything they may watch it and realize how stupid they are being with their anti gun crap. For me my guns are a hobby , I like to tear them apart , upgrade and rebuild them, mine has a drum and I shoot skeet with it , it's not my go to HD gun at all . I see videos of people with their s12 doing mag dumps with big smiles on their face all the time . It's not about killing for ev
  4. I can see both sides but a company like magpul I would be trying to make as much a I can , I can't imagine it would cost them more then a dollar a mag and I'm sure they will sell whatever they get out there . If they end up with bunch left it would be considered a loss come tax time .
  5. Family is probably on the phone with one of those ambulance chasing TV commercial lawyers right now working out the details for an amount they want to start out asking Well they should be partially to blame , that's pretty irresponsible .
  6. Unfortunately these type of guns have a bad image in the media and general population , I'm not saying that's right because it isn't . Do I trust my saiga for HD ? He'll yeah but the cops or media could put their anti gun spin on it if something were to happen. It's only my preference not to use an "assault " looking rifle for HD . No point in saving my life to be locked up for the rest of it. Unfortuniaty image is would play a big part.
  7. I have a benelli m4 and a saiga 12, I wouldn't part with either gun but not only is the benelli better out of the box it's my go to HD gun as well and never had issues with light loads . Good luck having to use your converted saiga for HD. The news would have a field day with that.
  8. I will take a pic when I get home, basically I went to the range for the 3rd time with this gun I was using Remington target loads from bass pro. Started with the stock plug and every round would FTE so I figured I would try to adjust my autoplug ( never got the auto plug it to fix any issues , I bought it before I fired my gun) I went through the whole process as the tac47 video shows until I bottomed out the screw. While trouble shooting at the range i noticed the plug needed to be turned counter clockwise 1/8" - 3/16" past the detent to be aligned with the gas ports. So I took a round file
  9. I agree but my point was the detent was positioned wrong on the gun which I discovered with the auto plug, I put the the auto plug in so I don't have to remember to adjust anything not to fix anything. Stock plug won't work with light loads until its modified like the auto plug. Just trying to help people who are having similar issues.i read a lot about fte and never came across an issue with the detent being off.
  10. Hey everyone new to the forum. I bought my saiga 12 a year ago and converted it myself , I have a four hole but one was covered by the gas block , I drilled out all four holes the correct size and dremeled the gas block. I also polished and profiled the bolt. The gun fired heavy loads great but not light loads, I put an auto plug in and still couldn't get it to work. I was stumped I thought maybe the plug was covering the first hole but it wasn't . I then realized the detent was off maybe 3/16 " I don't believe it's the auto plug but most likely the block itself, I took a round file and modi
