  1. Keep in mind Im only buying another .22 pistol only because I want a threaded barrel.
  2. I want to buy a .22 lr pistol. Must come with a treaded barrel. I been looking at the Ruger SR22 and 22/45 lite. Also the S&W MP .22. Which one would you recommend and why?
  3. Thanks for the review. I might have to buy a few to try them out for myself. Before I buy is there a coupon code I can use?
  4. I ordered a slant back stock and made it fit my square back after some wood work. I end up finding that out about the trigger guard after trying to fit the new stock.
  5. I found a finished slant back vepr stock. I need to replace my unfinished square back vepr. Could you cut the slant out of the wood stock to fit the square back receiver on the vepr 7.62x54?
  6. Looks like centerfire systems are the only ones selling the square backs right now. On sale for $729. The bad thing is that the stocks are unfinished. I was going to hold out until they come out with finished stocks because I like the way they look. This might be the last for the square backs for sale in the 7.62x54. They just sold out of the 23" barrel. I jump the gun and put my order in for the 20 1/2" barrel. I guess I can also finish the stock myself or replace it with any standard AK stock.
  7. I noticed wear on only one side of my carrier. That is when I noticed my gas block is canted. What is the best way to fix this?
  8. Would you ever offer a polished bolt instead of black?
  9. I have 10 SMG mags, 2 AGP mags and 2 Pro Mags. Both Pro mags I had to file down to make them fit right. None of the other brands I never had to file. The Pro mag 20 rd drums are ok but I like the MD drums better.
  10. I don't think I want to waste my money on promag. I will hold out and wait for the other brands to come in. I see the price went up on the 20 rd drums $125 now. A few months ago they were $89.
  11. Was anyone installed this on their S12? Results? I don't know about replacing the metal factory parts with plastic aftermarket parts.
  12. I can think of a another company that is a business member on here and also commented on this thread. I wanted to buy the win choke adapter. He told me to pay a head on time so I will be one of the first people to get one when he gets them in stock. Everyone else was receiving the first batches when they came in that paid after me. After 45 days of waiting I asked him about that and his response was only two words "OH WELL". So I got a refund. It was a good thing because I found that akbuilder had them in stock and cheaper also.
  13. I just ordered 4 mags!!! They had 84 in stock before I put my order in. I will be suprized if they will have any in stock by tomorrow.
  14. I had one on my s12. It worked great for me. The reason I took it off is because I wanted to change the look of my S12 with a Russian red wood stock. I will sell mine for $50 shipped. I can send pics if you want. If interested pm me. If anyone else wants to buy it you can send me a message also.
  15. I just tried the reduced 10% recoil spring. It fixed my FTE issues I had once it a while shooting low brass. But now I have a problem that is wont push the bolt all the way closed when loading another shell. It did it once on every 10 rd mag I fired.
  16. I had the barrel work done by Rosco World. The Tapco Type 74 muzzle break is the only one he recommends and installs on Mosin. I guess I could of installed a different one myself but he highly recommended this one for the gun that works in reducing recoil. The muzzel brake installed was included in the price of the barrel shorten, barrel target crown and threaded.
  17. Could not use the old sights anymore since the Rock Solid scope mount is installed that blocks the sights anyway. I don't plan on shooting that far anyway with this gun. Othewise they do make scopes to count the bullet drop to shoot that far.
  18. I have not shot it yet after the mods. The muzzle break is supposed to reduce recoil more like shooting an SKS. The end of the barrel has a target crown so it should shoot better. I cannot wait to find out. I plan on shooting it on turkey day.
  19. I know this is not a Saiga but I been working on this and my S12 project this year. I thought I would share if some of you might be interested. I bought the 1942 mosin for $100. Invested $1000 in parts, shipping, plus labor. Here is the result. - The barrel was shorten to 24", thread and muzzle break installed - Rear sight dove tail removed - Rock Solid scope mount installed plus scope - Cut staight bolt handle off, welded new bent bolt, polished bolt and safety pull ring installed - New ultra-light trigger by Huberconcepts - Boyd's gun stock - Bedding pillers installed Before
  20. Bought my S12 in Febuary this year and got around to finish it. Thinking about getting the bolt polished later. Trying to start and finish 4 other guns projects over the winter now. Before (stock with after market 10 Rd mag After conversion
  21. I have 2 Romanian AK47s and love shooting them. I can not compare with other brands since I never owned other AK. Unless you count my S12 as one. I never had any problems with them. I owned one of them for 18 years. I love the color of the wood on your AK. Looks sharp!
  22. I end up buying a used ak wood stock set from centerfiresystems with metal hardware for $25. Without metal hardware is $10. It looked rough with scratches when you get it. But mine looks awesome after I sanded it down and stained it the Russian red stock color. Eight coats of glossy clear finish and a rubber butt pad. I like it so much I just ordered another set from them today for my M10 AK47 that has a plastic tapco stock on it right now. They also sell the rubber butt pad for $10 that is designed to slip on the ak stock.
