  1. I just remembered something... I was at a restaurant one time, sitting by a window, and a lady had pulled in to a parking spot right outside. I didn't see her get out of the car, but she was checking the straps holding the bicycle to the rooftop rack on the car. She was rather nice looking and her "bicycle outfit" left little to the imagination. Then she turned around and I got a better look at her hands and face... she must have been in her early 60's! I was quite a bit younger at the time, and it was quite unsettling! If the same thing happened today, probably wouldn't bother me so
  2. I guess I was fortunate growing up and learning to shoot rifles on the range at the club my Dad helped build. The rifle range had target stands at 50, 100, 150 and 200 yards. It was fun and a good learning experience starting out at the 50, then working our way out to the 200 and noticing how range and wind affected the results on-target. Someday I hope to get time in on a real long-range course and learn about much longer range shooting.
  3. Nice! I have a 30-something MTD, 2-stage snowblower. My Dad bought it on a Spring special in '76, the year before the big Blizzard o' '78! I take it to a local shop that's very good with old gas engines and get it serviced/tuned every other year. I had to get tubes installed in the tires a few years ago because they wouldn't hold air very well any more. Still good traction, though! Have to say it's running better than I am after all these years.
  4. Since they're always necro-threads, I'm almost wondering if it's a former member just messing with us?
  5. ^ Rather shocking development in that case, by the way... a California judge has actually sided WITH the bakery!
  6. You didn't miss anything, Chili... same damn spammers that have been harassing us here lately. I've been Reporting them as I see 'em.
  7. And now they've charged some poor sod for ... nothing. And "accidentally" published his name, so his life is now ruined. Disgusting.
  8. Well, I can't stand them, so let's call it even.
  9. Nice rifle there, Chili! I have a "post-ban" Colt HBAR II that I enjoy very much, it's a tack-driver out to 200 yds. (Longest I've been able to shoot it.)
  10. Glad you're here, Jerry! Best Wishes for a full recovery and for your new life ahead!
  11. I can't believe that after he killed the first half-dozen of his generals and relatives that no one paid him back in kind sooner!
  12. I don't really know anything about Cerakote, but all the ones I've seen previously were shiny, like metal plating. I didn't know you could do matte colors and patterns, that looks like Duracoat to me.
  13. I used to have a 2WD S-10 Blazer. It worked fine in Arizona, since it was mostly dry out there (did some great off-roading with it), but when I moved back to PA I thought I might need chains. I bought a set, and practiced putting them on in the driveway on a nice day. The two times I actually needed them, I was able to pull into a service garage (drove a school bus at that time) and put them on inside. The garage was at the bottom of a pretty good hill, I doubt the lil' Blazer would have made it without the chains those times.
  14. I don't think Savage is underrated. The people I've talked to and the reviews I've seen are all pretty favorable about them. If I need another bolt gun sometime, they'd be at the top of my list to consider.
  15. No, I said it's COLD! One of my favorite scenes from Babylon 5...
  16. I see a dark grey one and a green one... Whathehel are you talking about?!
  17. Reminds me of the old saying... "His troops would follow him anywhere, but only out of a morbid curiosity."
  18. Merry Christmas, all! My favorite tradition during this Holiday Season is to revisit "A Christmas Carol" with George C. Scott. The *best* version of this movie, to me. Yes, I have seen the older version with Alistair Cooke. GC Scott is superb, and the rest of the cast really makes this version stand out, IMO.
  19. The most highly recommended SXS for hunting geese!
  20. I find the controls on the 870 much easier to use than the 500. Guess I'm goofy too. And I'm okay with that.
