...cause the Saiga cost 200 brand new and shiny right from the Russian factory whereas my SAR kinda went around the world a few laps and then had the flash suppressor ripped off and the barrel defaced by the folks who needed to make it band- era legal...which was o.k. except they kinda put the front, sight block back on-crooked and I could not sight- it in til I came here and learned all about AKs and what was wrong with my SAR-1(I paid 350 for). Can't help you with the smith but I'm seriously looking into adding a rifled choke tube. I have a Rem870SP and it has a 3" rifled choke tube that amazingly enough..puts those plain- jane 1 ounce Sluggers down range to 100 yards in a 3" target if I do my part correctly. I know.. your prolly looking at the rifled thing for others reasons. I think the judge would still call it a shotgun just before he sends you through the back door.

I might part with my 410 converted. Tired of waiting for a bunch of 10 rnd mags. The whole idea was to take the kids out blasting clay pidgeons..but now I'm having seconds thoughts...safety and ammo prices of 410. I just ordered a Saiga 12...for ME!
