Is it feasible to remove the stock FSB and GB and install a new set using a rubber mallet?

I have a spare 5.45 AK-74 muzzle brake that I'd like to use on a 7.62 Saiga conversion. Would there be any issues by just machining the exit hole larger? I assume that's the only difference between the 5.45 and 7.62 muzzle brake?

My Saiga 7.62 has a threaded barrel. I want to add a slant muzzle break to it to try and make it look as close to an AKM as possible. Is there anything keeping this front sight from working? http://aa-ok.com/akm-front-sight-assy.html My barrel diameter is .576 according to the caliper I'm using. I would also like to change out the gas block if possible for one with the accessory lug. Would I be able to use a 45 degree gas block or will I have to stick to using a 90 degree?
