  1. Are there any threads compiling best-worst ammo for MD drums? Has anyone used mil surp 00 in MD drums?

    Auto Gas Plug

That makes sense, I may be the victim of some bad advice.
  3. Make sure your holes are right , then put a auto gas plug on it.

    Auto Gas Plug

You've got to remember to have the bleed valve welded shut when you put an auto adjuster in., Then it should hypothetically shoot blanks. This does of course have some bearing on the gas ports. I haven't had a chance to test mine yet, but will let you know. I'm hoping it will cycle blanks, less lethal, etc. I have a friends whose gun was very broken in from being a range gun, and it shot black powder blanks with the factory gas plug!
  5. I used to be into the 37mm pretty heavy. What kind of project are you doing?
  6. The satisfaction of getting a bargain is temporary, the sting of owning crap is permanent. A realistic light for a 12 gauge should be L.E.D., and it should be made by Surefire.
  7. And I'm still trying to understand the legal assertion that you can't put a 10 round mag in an imported gun.... I mean, I'm open minded because I have seen the BATFE put forward some pretty bizarre ideas, but no one seems to be able to cite code, so... I'm still trying to understand it all myself. To many experts saying it's legal and illegal. Until I see some code law, I'm not buying it. When it comes to firearms, everyone's an expert. And if I did have a non converted S12, you can bet I would freely use every mag and drum I have, I will only capitulate so far to these so

  9. Six Hundred Dollars!!!! I remember for a while we were getting S12's for $229, and selling them for $299!! This is before RAA. The name of the previous importer escapes me. Internationally, a NIB, Izmash select fire ak,in the grease, is around $150. It's a shame the premium we pay for the privilege of having these p.c. thought police up our asses. If it weren't for stifling anti-capitalist, anti-free enterprise, anti-2nd amendment regulations, I'd estimate a surplus 1919a4 would cost about a hundred dollars. The current trend however, is paying a machinist $35/hr to chop them. So I get to
  10. I'm sorry, I'm not looking for peoples speculations found on gun forums, and I'm not trying to offend anyone. However, I am looking for a federal law that says something to the effect that putting a magazine capable of holding more than 5 rounds into an imported shotgun makes it non sporting, and thus unsuitable for importation, or manufacture, or a DD. I also can't see how it would have a negative effect on the parts count. In addition, I've just refreshed myself on 27 CFR 478.39, and I cannot find anything that would indicate that use of a magazine over 5 rounds (which traditionally would in
  11. I would be more than willing to digress on the subject if I'm wrong. Can you cite the pertinent law(s), or information that has lead you to this conclusion?
  12. Um, I'm going to have to call you on this one Nalioth. (Unless you are talking about a state law.) In fact, the 10 round magazines made in the USA, count as 3 U.S. parts, towards 922 compliance. I've read most of the laws, repeatedly, and I've never heard the term "Non sporting magazine" in any of the federal language.
  13. This could be a possibility: know your own laws. from the collective opinion of all the gun shop owner I've asked they told me the 10 rounders weren't kosher in MA. time do to a little more research. I've worked in a few gun shops, and patronized dozens, and I can tell you that they are NOT a reliable source for legal advice. Learn to research the codes your self, it's fairly easy on the internet. In fact, here, I'll give you a hand. http://www.atf.gov/firearms/statelaws/22edition.htm
  14. Malum Prohibitum laws must be curtailed. It's ridiculous that non-criminal Americans have to eat this sort of crap, and live in anxiety over the chance that they may have overlooked some inane detail that could result in 10 years in prison. But in our favor, these laws are general, vague, and not even marginally constitutional. Oh, and I love the pistol grip laws. What we need is someone with carpal tunnel syndrome to sue under the Americans with Disabilities Act; A vertical grip being much easier on the tendons. And what ever happened to "scope and spirit" of the law? What is it this

    My S12 video

Yes I noticed the bigger flash on the draco too! Do you think it was the ammo? The wolf I was shooting uses military style low flash powder (I think). I should get some premo hunting rounds and see what happens. But yes, I love all of the rifle caliber pistols. There sooo wrong!
  16. Once a guy smarter than me said, "a shot shell gets all the velocity that its going to in about 8 inches". I think many length issues have to do with sight radius, more than power. So like a poster said, it depends on what you want to do with it. Me, I like it as short as possible, but the mission statement for my S12 does not include hunting or trap and skeet. Join the NRA.

    My S12 video

Love the flash on the Draco. This here is me and my Vector 51. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A9KxxksIcag
  18. (Please excuse the camera quality.) These are all 20 round dumps. We filmed this in order to get a rate of fire for the S12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTKgh3tztag
  19. That's what I was worried about. I believe I've read that they had problems with those stocks on ak's due to recoil. Perhaps some reinforcement, hardening and buffering will take care of that . R & D baby!
  20. Nice!! I'm not sure how it will play out, but you have definitely done us a favor in the interests of research and development!
  21. Generally speaking, a spring must be defective, very low quality, or damaged to fail. Keeping them loaded will not weaken a good spring. There have been cases of magazines being found that were loaded for 80 years, and they worked fine. If they rust, get stretched, or crushed out of there operating range, or overheated, then you may have a dead spring. But otherwise, I think you have a different problem.
  22. Four is generally considered the tactical minimum, (one in the gun, 2 on your person and a spare) for long guns I would say 8-10. That way you can compensate if a magazine gets damaged or is defective. As for people who think you only need one, in the tactical world, one is none, and two is one. Also the more mags you have, the more you can switch between different loads, instantly, and that's one of the advantages of having a magazine fed shotgun. And another thing, there is no such thing as excessive due to the fact that you can always stop shooting. In other words it IS possible to have
  23. It is NOT THE SAME!!! And you risk a very dangerous situation by interchanging the safeties!!!! The gun may discharge when the safety is disengaged. I'm not saying that it is impossible to use a different safety lever, but thoroughly test it before your rely on it.

    AGP Mags

Mine did the same thing when I loaded them. But when I went to the range they worked fine, and loosened after the first loading. My advice, try them in the field before any permanent modifications.
  25. I would advise giving a file stroke beyond tight. You want an eentsy bit of play. My experience is limited to 5 drums. One fit very tight (after fitting) and it cracked a corner off of the retention shelf/lip during use.
