I don't know if this helps any one but here's what I did on my 8". I don't remember how far I moved my gas block back 3.25 - 3.75. What ever was recomended else were of here for an 8" gun. I also modified the gas puck to match. Is it right? Who knows it seems to be working pretty well for me. I also couldn't find any good pics of the carrier when I did mine so I just winged it. Carriers cut down. Piston is turned down. Puck is turned down and bored out to fit the piston.

I'm gonna give my opinion without knowing your skill set and what your wanting your finished gun to do (or look like). I vote to do it yourself. I know everyone one can't do everything - weld, cerakote etc, but alot of those things done are bolt on stuff. There's lots of helpful info and people here. Save yourself some $$ then pay some one to do the specialty stuff that you might not be able to do. That's just my opinion for what it's worth.

Changed my mind. If you have access to a mill and tig it's not hard to make. It's a cut down inch FAL charging handle some bar stock and a set screw. I just made it up as I went. I've got some other ideas for it maybe, who knows. It's a work in progress so don't mind the finish or lack there of.

I made it. It's non reciprocating. It's smooth when adjusted right. It's just tacked on for now. I still have to see how well it holds up to some abuse. I'm not real sure how I feel about the looks of it so we will see if it stays.

It can if the charging handle is on the left side.

Thanks again for the info guys. I did buy the correct latch. The stock hits my charging handle. So I may make a longer one so it can stick out a bit further.

Couple more questions and pics. The trunion angle can be seen in the first pic. In this position the tabs that normally stick up on an ak are below the reciever. If I raise it up to where it would be on an ak there's a gap on the bottom between the trunion and reciever. Gap can be seen in the second pic. I've put a few of these on m92 pap's and didn't run in to these issues. I know this stock wasn't made for this gun. So where does it go? Up high and fill the gap or tabs below the reciever? Thanks.

Hey I've got one of the arsenal poly lh side folder stocks with the 4.5 pin. I'm going to put it on my s12. Looks to me when installed the back of the trunion will sit at a slight angle. I searched but really only found info on the stocks with 5.5 pins. My questions are: Do I trim the reciever at an angle to fit the trunion? Or do I add metal to the reciever to make the angle? When useing this stock will I be able to reuse any of the old trunion holes? Does anyone have pics of one of these stocks installed for reference? Does anyone have measurements for the two latch holes on a s12

If I were to modify an ak top or dust cover to fit a saiga 12, is there one that would be better to start with over the others. I don't have any to compare. I read on the internets that some variants are shorter than others. I really don't wanna buy a bunch of different ones just to find one that will work. Sorry if this has been covered before. I searched but didn't find much info other than it could be done. Thanks.

The long answer is, Its ACE item number A504. I had it on the ACE compact ak reciever block(on a s12). ACE sight says it fits any reciever block ACE makes. It has the boss. The boss is the raised (oblong shaped) portion on the Arm (small side). The boss could be machined off and im sure it could be adapted to fit other recievers. The short answer is im gonna say neither without modifications.

Thanks for the input guys. Cycling by hand it seems to eject fine even at slower speeds. That's why I was thinking under real use the bolt isn't cycling back far enough for one reason or another. I'll try out the suggestions provided and reply back with what I find.

Always. But not as bad as it is now. It was the same after converted. Reading about the issues with these guns, it seemed like most everybody gets theirs sorted out. So I didn't worry doing the conversion on mine. I've put as much as I can back to stock. In the process of trying to get it 100% it seems like its getting worse the more I do to it. It seems like I get only one or two that eject right. Before and right after it was converted it would have one or two that wouldn't eject right. Nothing seems to make it better. I went up in small increasments but making the ports bigger seems to m

Anyone else got any suggestions on other things I could try or check out? Any reason why I shouldnt go bigger on the ports?

Thanks for the suggestions. So any adverse affects if I turn the plug out one more turn? What about two or three turns? How many extra turns before it becomes a bad idea?

Yes cleaned it out before I shot it last.
