Here's a pic to show the difference of the s-12 versus the 308 hanguard just so ya can see it. The 308 is longer and a new hole would need to be drilled in it to accomodate the difference at the least.

Some old BRG3 wood...

Been I long time since I posted up in here, good to see some of the old crew is still around. Just finished converting my old 308 that I have had in stock wood for years, figgered it was time for a change and some decent trigger feel... and for giggles here's the old shotgun in some veru early BRG3 wood... Big thanks to Greg for all his super quick shipping and patience with my questions.

The first 4 pics are a semi secret location and a rare occurrence, that kind of heavy water only happens every few years or so when a particular lake overflows its banks. The place is called Mexican Creek and it is near you, Shane, but on private and sensitive property. At least Class 4+, the first two drops could be solid Class 5. The last two pics are of Teardrop Falls on Onion Creek up here in Austin.

THAT is a plain ole M-14 in a Navy SEAL developed SAGE Enhanced Battle Rifle chassis. Mechanically beds the action. 308 round. I have two barrel lengths, 18" and 22". I prefer the 22" for the "Ultimate Rifle". I can shoot the nuts offa gnat at 500 yards with this sucker, if I only had a decent receiver.

Very interested in the sporter thumbhole for unconverted 308, but you know that already.

Not a problem sir. Just make sure he does all of his own writing and don't expect his teacher to be swayed. Make sure he dots his Is and crosses his Ts and states just the facts, very important to couch yer opinions in term papers.

Man am I pleased!! I know most folks keep it blonde but it positively glowed in the dark so I stained it all a deep red mahogany. I did like the blonde but I can't have a glowing weapon at night. Seems a forum member started a thread of this nature but it tended to focus more on the kosherness of keeping a loaded mag in the gun. What about keeping yer mags loaded and in their carry bag ready to go? Any opinions/facts relating to what it does to the mag or spring? I have always kept all of my AR and M-14 mags loaded and ready, sometimes for years at a time, and they have always performed just fine. But some have said that it will wear out the spring. I need facts on this matter. I currently keep 5X10 rounders and 6x5 rounders loaded and ready to go. Am I inviting a mag failure?

Ok dammit, I have succumbed. I got my 308 today. My intention was to Drag it but after handling my bud's Romak I don't like the converted LOP, too short for my monkey arms. The solution is to leave it unconverted and running one of ya'll's stocks. So I am asking, can I be in yer evil black gun club too? Seriously, could you please tell me about yer bipod set up Idol? That is exactly what I want.

We traded today for his 308 and all was smooth as silk. He's one of the good guys.
