  1. Well I bought the new tap and that did the trick. I must of got a bad one in the kit from danzig because this one worked with very little effort to start. I am glad I did this the right way instead of my plan B.
  2. I tried again today to tap the hole with no luck. I am going to try getting another tap and using proper lube instead of wd-40. If this doesnt work then I am thing of securing the guide in with jb weld. I know it isnt ideal but I havent heard of it failing anyone.
  3. I am using the kit from dinzag so I am assuming that the drill bit and tap are the right sizes.I am pretty sure that I went all the way through the trunion because the drill bit goes deeper than the tap. Is there a way to check if I messed up drilling the hole?
  4. I don't mean the tap stops just the feeling of it cutting. Could have I have screwed up drilling the hole or just not using the tap correctly?
  5. I am installing a bullet guide but I am having trouble. I drilled my hole and I am trying to tap it but it seems like the tap doesnt seem to want to start. It feels like it is starting to cut the threads but then stops. I was at it for 30min with no luck. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
  6. Ok I thought just adding a pistol grip would put it in 922r territory and was confused on how this style of stock was approved for import. Sorry for the confusion. It seems like ATF compliance for anything cool seems like a pain sometimes. Now you mentioned replacing the puck and thread protector. Which parts are those?
  7. If I put an izhmash "saiganov" stock on it would it count as 1 part since it was counted as only a buttstock when it was imported?
  8. I am going to be doing a conversion soon and I wanted to put on a dragunov style stock. Does this count as 1 or 2 parts. Before I get flamed for not searching, I heard both answers and I am trying to find out which is right. Since this is physically only one part wouldnt it only count as 1?
  9. You got lucky in this one. As the saying goes, ignorance of the law is not an excuse for violating it. Know the laws and regulations of where you are going. In my opinion, bumpfiring is a little reckless because anyone that I have seen do it normally doesnt have good control of their rifle. Remember there is a lawyer attached to every shot fired and you better hope it does not hit anyone.
  10. That is what I thought. I just wanted to make sure. Thanks.
  11. I want to keep everything on my rifle stock now but I want to add a scope, mount, and bipod. Do I need to worry about 922r compliance?
