  1. I chose a stock from Mako Security and am verry happy with my decision ( http://www.makosecur...gory_Code=_STKS ) With that stock I use a Tapco MIL-SPEC tube and an ace folding setup. This way I have an adjustable folding stick with a shock absorber and adjustable cheek rest. I don't think it can be beat. Actually, I've used the same setup on my AK-47 Draco pistol SBR conversion. It's not cheap but money wasn't my first concern.

Oh, great, more recoil reduction voodoo magic. You never see them back up the talk with actual facts....

  2. I have stated in the past and I will state it again; Anytime a customer has a problem with one of my parts, give me a call and I will explain the installation or do what it takes to help them out. I will do my best as long as the customer does not try to use me as their personal information source and monopolize my time.

There are literally thousands of the JTE Spring out there and it has a proven track record. There are cases where it has not performed to the customers standard, but that is to be expected from any product, except possibly pussy.

In all seriousness, any part that you buy, which is not factory, is a CUSTOM part. Springs are crucial in properly tuning a firearm and when done properly will enhance the reliability and function of the system. The Spring IS NOT for every application, but you the customer needs to know what you are doing and make a knowledgeable decision or seek guidance from a knowledgeable smith.

99% of the people I deal with on the forum or buy my parts, know what they are doing or have the mechanical expertise to either figure it out or seek the guidance and then run with it.

It is that 1% who really don't have a clue what the fuck they are doing and probably should not even own a firearm that have a hard time figuring some of this simple shit out, like increasing the tension of a double torsion spring. It's kinda like the old saying, "You couldn't pour piss out of a boot even if it had the instructions written on the bottom of the boot," or words to that effect.

Sorry if I have insulated any of you and I promise to work on my people skills in the near future.

As Ozzy would say, "Love you all".

Talk about rude and insulting. Geez, man.

  3. Okay Mike Got questions?unsure.gifunsure.gif the so called diamondized coating ot the puck, is it a dry lube or protectant? because after 275 rounds the puc has a peeling effect in the rear where the piston rod strikes and rear lip before the groove? color change is expected, heating and all but peeling effect? normal or not? works fine and installs and removes easily so?

Mike, I know the thread is moving fast, but would you mind speaking to my question of wear resistance? Since you've swapped from steel, what kind of lifespan reduction do you expect? It's a $16.00 part so it's ok if it doesn't last as long, but I'd like to know what kind of a difference we are looking at.

Sorry, I don't think ware will be an issue. I might have close to a couple thousand rounds on one sample and it is completely fine with no signs past rub marks which the factory get as well. Also if it ever does ware out just send it back and we will replace it with a new one. I really don't think that will be an issue though. My thought is if someone fire enough rounds on one to ware it out I'd love to see the end result and they deserve a new one!

Yes, Some will do this. The finish blistered slightly on the back in the center of the piston. You will find that it will not spread though. Also the finish is pretty meaningless on the back and really even the front. That is why the factory stopped finishing the factory piston completely on all side and only do the outer diameter in hard chrome. The outer diameter is the important area. If you take a knife and scrap the back (like shaving) as you normally would to clean the fouling from the piston you will see it will not spread past a certain point. Also remember if it ever wares out until a point of failure we will gladley replace it. We aren't going any where!

Here is the thread, that is post #130. Read the whole thread for lots of info on the piston and "diamondized" finish.

In summary: It's a cheap coating for the vodoo magic. All very technical, proprietary, and stuff...

BOTTOM LINE: No one would intentionally make a product that flakes off in your gun. No one.

  4. I'm not sure what "safety" has to do with the barrel length; I routinely use firearms with very short barrels- 2" and less. Lots of SBR's and subguns are very short

The limiting factor for Saiga SBS barrel length is gas. 8" is the shortest you can go and still get OEM reliability is 8". We made the custom 6" by request for an executive bodyguard company. It functions well on 00 loads but will not run birdshot reliably.

The dwell time is so low on a barrel that short; dwell being the length of time when the load passes the gas ports until the time it leaves the barrel. This is why we move the gas block back for SBS, it increases dwell.

It was a cool gun though. Like any SBS, I would want a vertical stop of some type to keep you from covering the muzzle with your hand.

A safety issue which is less of a problem as the barrel length increases.

Presently, I'm thinking 13" is just about right.

That looks flippin sweet! Hands down it has to be the best home defense weapon ever created.

Probably not or we'd have seen Tromix making more.

  5. Great to see you bringing in more products legion, seems like your the only ones having success with importation. Heres a couple questions:

1- what trigger guard are you using in the conversions, and how is it attached?

2- you said a while ago that you were having magazines made in America for both magwell and non magwell guns, in multiple capacities, and that you were going to import factory mags as well. Do you have a update on their status?

    1. We use a variety of trigger guards, including (but not limited to): Tromix, CSS, Ram.

    2. The 8-rd magwell mags are coming in next week. Thus, we should have them available through the website and distributors within 7-10 business days.

    3. The American-made hi-cap sticks for magwell (5, 8, 10, 12-rd) are being tested now and should become available for sale within the next 3 weeks.

    And rock N lock mags?

  6. +1 on the CSS booster puc

CSS is great to work with and sells a fine product.

I think you mean Performance Puc, not to be confused with the MD Arms Booster Puck.
