Update: I took the gun apart; it is a 3 port, and all ports pass the paper clip test. I DID, however, find a HUGE chunk of unburned powder or plastic or something blocking the entire gas port hole...all 3. I put the stock puck back in, and cleaned the crap out of the tube. I also took some sandpaper and polished the bolt; there are DIVOTS in that thing...I went pretty light on the polish; i figure i can take more metal off pretty easily, but its hard to put back on. My 3 year old daughter helped me sand it, i have a picture of her working on the disassembled Saiga. It doesn't get better than t

I'm in woodcock, Ct. Unfortunately. I'm a pretty good auto mechanic. I just don't like things with small parts. Thank you for the assistance; I really want the gun to work and I do really like the concept. Stryker, how do you figure I brought family into this. I live where I do because I choose my kids over my toys. Do I hate it? yep. And will you buy me a drink before skull f***ing me? I do believe the Irish translation of your name is Bag O' Douche...

I'm going to put it back to stock (if I can find the parys-i moved and most everything is still packed. While its apart, I'm going to detail clean it and polish any parts that show friction parts. I will do some reading first... I will get a look at the gas ports too. If the need work, I'll do that while its open. Since I can't get my handss on it till I get back home, I'm trying to figure of exactly what my plan is for it.

I didn't run buck shot through it, I ran really heavy #2 steel goose loads through it; and they seemed to do better, but still not perfect. @King of the hill--sorry I jumped like I did. My bad...sometimes my sense of humor needs a slap to get it started

Ok. no css low brass kit. whose plug should I use? Gonna check out the porting next weekend, then throw a polish on the action and wear parts, mic the promag and remove material there if necessary, remove the aftermarket stuff from it and get it to run. @king of the hill.... Yes they are. and my kids do help me shoot. I don't get why people like you need to make stupid, not germane comments to a guy looking for some help. Why the resentment towards someone who is having problems with something they clearly want fixed and is looking for advice? This wasn't a great purchase on my part, and I bo

Stryker, the super-x actually works from the factory...I didn't buy the Saiga to have an erector set that I could take to the range; I bought it to have a defensive tool with the most firepower you can legally own. I guess a gun that jams every third round with high brass is acceptable to you. It isn't to me...How could I be "sold" on a weapon that I have not had a jam free mag through yet? I'm here trying to get ideas on how to fix it, and maybe vent a little. I didn't pass the gun control laws in my state, and if I wasn't divorced with kids I would be out of there. Maybe you would choose

Evlblkwpns, Right now, I have a really big, heavy, cumbersome, hard to to load single shot. I hope to change this

Sparticus, thank you!! Good troubleshooting technique!! Then add one part at a time till it stops running... The md arms drum works a LOT better than the promag. I want to mic the opening on the md arms vs the promag.... I should be home next week or the week after, and I'm.looking foreword to messing with it.

I really like the gun; but it is jamming even with max dram loads.

It isn't converted; I live in CT and I can't put a pistol grip stock on it legally. Besides, it seemed like a lot of work to fix something that wasn't broken. The trigger location and pull are acceptable. I put 200-300 rounds through it. It isn't fun to shoot when it jams every other round. If it worked I would shoot it a LOT more. I would gladly throw $1500+ at a high cap semi 12 gauge that just ran and didn't need to be messed with. I am very disappointed in this weapon and in the ak platform in general if they are all this finicky. My 3 ARs just run... It isn't converted; I live in CT

Here's the plan: I'm going to take her down and check the gas ports, order the CSS low brass reliability kit, polish the wear points on the bolt and hammer, smooth everything up a little and drop a LRBHO in it. If I need to open up the gas ports, I will...
