i understand how this auto plug works. my question is since the plug vents off the gas it dont need does this reduce the recoil. so if u mix a mag with different shells bird shot slugs 00 buck etc. can you tell which shells you just shot? im question pretty much is how is the recoil changed after you shoot hot load when its dailed in for target loads. thanks

i drilled my 3 ports with a 3/32 drill bit and took it out and shoot federal and winchester bulk ammo shoot around 250 rounds. shoot great no problems at all. before i did the ports would not.eject any off these shells.at all. i shoot all these rounds as fast as i could just to try to make it have a problem. my gun was pretty dirty after that. but thanks for all your help and support thanks.

im going to drill out my 3 ports this weekend with a 3/32 bit. just hoping the angle wont be hard to get right. and i can get the gas block on after i open that up 2.

my gas ports are .07 i took my gas block off ad measured it with a drill kit. the 3/32 bit was too big to go in the hole. i got three gas ports should i drill them at 3/32

ok i just took my gas block off since it was not.shooting cheap ammo. its a 3 port gas system. i measured the ports with a kit of drill bits that determine size. my ports where .70 that was a nice tight fit. so i then took the 3/32 and that was to big. now im told they should be 3/32 is this correct? so if thats the case my ports are under sized? and i should drill them to 3/32 ? any one know why they have a hard time drilling.these to the right size? thanks please tell me what i should do. thanks

ok thanks for you input. so it sounds like every one saying keep running rounds threw it.till it works maybe a break in issue. or check with the gas ports. what size are the gas ports suppose to be on a 3 port gas system. and what size drill bit are people using to open them up? i may just drill them out just worried about getting the gas block back on. thanks for all you help.

i had the gun given to me so i just did the conversion on it last week. im guessing it don have many rounds threw it. 60 slugs around10 rds of 3inch 00 buck. 20 rounds high brass two boxes of the.winchester aa around 150 rds of mixed light load crap. that i put threw it. so maybe still needs a break in. just wanted to hear opinion on the reliability kits. my gas piston does look like its due.for replacement. what should i get to replace the gas piston.

i got a saiga 12 with 3 gas ports that are clear. shots heavy loads; slugs and 00 buck with no problems( all on setting 1). it will even shoot the light loads winchester aa's and federal multi-purose shot shells fine on settings 1. but when i try to shoot the federal field and target on either settings get alot of fte. same out come when i try the winchester super speed which is only 7/8 oz ( the walmart crapy bulks).i just think its weird that one type of federal shoots and not the other the are the.same dram. oz shoot and both 7 1/2 shot. i guess my question is if i want to shoot this chea

i just did a conversion using tapco g2. thats was in a kit on css. my concern is the safety i can push it up in to the safe direction. it will catch on the dust cover but i can make it go up all the way to the point that it causes the.trigger to engage. i did not cut or modify the safety in any ways. my question is that normal? if you guys take your dust cover off and lift ur safety up will it just stop or keep going up till the trigger engages? thanks for help please put me on right track.

i don't have a 22 inch barrel looks when i measure it its 19 inch barrel. from top of barrel to the other end. either way its a fun gun i.just did the convert i have not.shot it yet with the new parts installed. but feels awesome and looks great. guess not bad since i got the gun free. i had it in a closet for three years before thinking it would just be a fun project.

yes it is a eaa import and yes i have it on setting 1 and i shoot the universal cheap ammo in a pack of 100. i do know what the bho slot looks like from looking at other saigas just never saw one or heared of one with out the bho slot in it. but thanks your information was what i was looking for and thank you. is the a big difference between eaa and other importers seems people shy away from eaa thanks

any one have this issue i took my saiga 12 apart to do the conversion i looked down where the trigger would go and there is no cut out for the bho. any one else ever seen this? all i know about the gun is that it says 2004 on it does not have a threaded barrel and has three ports in gas tube. have not had any problems with it i can shoot walmart light loads on the heavy load settings with no problems thanks for at insight

just a update buffetdestroyer sent me Romy dustcover and he cut it out to match his s12 dust cover and sent it to me, ( i know what a nice guy to do all this for me) just wanted to post that the dust cover works great, shot couple boxes of shells threw it, and did not hang up or have any problems at all, i just wanted to update this, because when i looked up dust cover replacements in other forums people said that a rifle dust cover would not fit, and i just wanted people to know that a rifle dust cover will work, just needs to be cut out to the size of shells. thanks for all your insights an

ok thanks for your info, i did not lose the dust cover, the gun was given to me, and was missing the dust cover, just easier to say i lost it to stop people from asking why i need 2 dust covers, but now people ask how i lost it. lol so now i just want to get the part and do a custom job on it. thanks for your info.

im sure this may been talked about in may other chats, and i am sorry for this. i lost a dust cover for a s12 and need a replacement, know where i can get one, or has any one modded a rifle dust cover to the shell size opening? i have confirmed with some one with a rifle 7.62 put the dust cover on the s12 and it fit just the shell opening would not be big enough. any ideas i want to get this gun running. thanks alot
