  1. instead of buying everything separate you know they got kits right? might be a little easier for first conversion, or you can just look to get an idea what you need.
  2. If you want a collapsible stock with a pistol grip you can do it, you just have to pin the stock so it does not move anymore, their are tutorials around.
  3. I been hearing alot of people saying go with the kreb's. You need a top rail for kreb's right? I no their was one rear sight that just clamps on the dust cover i cant think of it right now, maybe it was the hk from chaos website. This is a hard decision, i am eventually going to get optics, but right now i want to get good at shooting with the iron sights.
  4. I just did my first conversion last week. Overall its pretty easy, take your time and watch all the vidoes on youtube. I picked up all my parts from carolina shooters supply, great company, my parts were sent to me fast, i am in new york as well. The only problem i had was with the bullet guide. As i was using the tap after drilling out the truinion, the tap broke and is now stuck,im waiting on a tap extractor and praying i can get it out without having to redrill bigger. When you do the bullet guide go SLOW. Dont use a drill for the tap,do it by hand by slowly going in and backing out. Also m
  5. That sounds very interesting, it seems like the front sight is going be tricky to get it on the much smaller barrel size, how do you plan on doing this? The dove tail peep seems like it would not be to big of a raise to clear. Maybe you can some how stack two sections of a top rail if that's possible, if its to much maybe work some of with a grinder. When you get around to doing it let us no how you made out.
  6. I have not owned one but it looks like you would have to get a new gas tube for it to work. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_4_64/139399_New___Midwest_Industries_AK_rail.html
  7. been looking at the texas weapons top rail and peep sights http://store.carolin...-DOG-LEG/Detail http://store.carolin...EP-SIGHT/Detail here are ones by magpul http://store.carolin...-FLIP-UP/Detail Any recommendations and input wil be appreciated.
  8. I'd be interested in where you get them if online http://whatacountry.com/galil.aspx
  9. Yes i can get ahold of 35 rd surplus south african Galils. I think i am just going do that for now being how MSA is backordered, once i get the ar15 adaptor ill just take out the bullet guide, not liking the idea that theirs gonna be a hole left tho. In the Great State of NY i can only get prebans, if i wanted tapcos and others they would have to be 10 rds or less
  10. Hello, been lurking this forum a while, i finally got around to doing a conversion for my 223, i have ordered a kit from caralina shooters supply and shood be reciving it by the end of the week. My question regards the bullet guide i have bought from them which enables me to use Galil Mags. From the reseach ive been doing i am getting alot of people saying the galils are not good, that i will still have to mod the mags aswell, and that i should stick with german weigers or bulgarian mags which are freakin impossible to find, so that leaves me with the ar15 adaptor wich sounds really appealing
