I know what you mean, im a plum, level and square guy myself. Im not to sure on the optic yet. thinking of something simple 4X, crosshair style small bodied scope.. I would but was givin this mount by my son in law, and he had owned it for years, so modifying woild be the only option onthis otherwise very solid mount.

Just got back from the range, fired from bench/bag n rest.......

it is a 3 piece. the screws between the rail and dust cover hold the 2 sections together which are ridged. so basically you have to loosen those 3 screws and move it up or down to the next section on the ridged surface for hieght adjustment. im just wondering if i retapped and moved it to the feft as far as i can go and it was still just a hair off to the right would it matter much?? i mean i see some of the russain scope mounts were the scope looks like it is offset way to the left? otherwise this is a real solid mount and i do like it..

Are these type mounts usually dead center? i might just drill and tap holes off to the left like you suggested

its a legion arms...
-
is this normal to be offset to the right like this?

Seems Tapco will no longer be making the Galil style handguard...

Hey fellas, i wanna thank you both for making things crystal clear.....

Hello gentlemen. OK to start i live in NY and can only use pre ban 30 round mags. So do they even make pre ban .223 mags or will the 5.56 ones work. i do realize to use these pre ban mags i will have to install a bullet guide, will that be all i have to do? then once the bullet guide is in place can i still use my Saiga 10 round mags? or a Saiga 30 round mag? I see Saiga 30 round mags go for $28.95 or so, what can i expect to pay for pre ban mags and where is the best place to find them? Guys i wanna thank you in advance for any info provided....

Hey guys i have a converted .223 which is 922 legal. what can i legally (NY law) put on the end of my barrel as far as a muzzle brake/flash hider and do i have to remove my factory sight to do so?.....thanks much

Hey Irish brother. Just try this, go to you tube and look up installing bullet guide on Saiga and then order one of these http://store.carolin...ET-GUIDE/Detailit comes with the drill bit and tap all you need is to borrow or buy a cheap cordless drill. the you tube vid will show you the procedure, all nastyness aside it it truly a simple process. Now as far as the hand guard retainers all you need to do is order a new gas tube like this one http://dinzagarms.co...2x39/akgt1.html and a lower retainer like this one http://www.brownells...7000010_d_11003 the gas tube removal can be found on you

-

Any of these worth buying..... http://ammo4guns.com/223_5.html Whats a good bullet weight for a Saiga barrel twist?
-
SKS's are 350.00 bucks now. no more for 150.00. spend alittle more and get the Saiga of course.
-
yea it looks like most of those need the Gas Tube and retainer thing..
-
hey guys, what is the story with handguards, which ones can be used on Saigas without having to replace the gas tube and putting the retainer on the barrel, what i really would like to know is who makes a AK similar handgaurd that just bolts right onto the rifle?
