  1. Well here's the nitty with some gritty thrown in. I'm not a hunter, target shooter or a collector. I have the firearms I have primarily for the defense of myself and my family. If I were still living in some of the places I have lived over the years I would be better able to "shoot for fun". But as it is right now the nearest range that is just a place to shoot and not range/country club or with membership fees I can't afford is 25-30 miles away. So to answer the questions, this 7.62 and my S-12 will be my primary weapons with 45ACP, and 357 on the hip. I am not an accomplished rif
  2. Nice, talk about "reaching out", this will get it done.
  3. They are pricey and sold out. I've been looking closely at this part and while I'm no expert it seems to be something very worthwhile.
  4. Dang it...I thought drag racing was a pricey hobby....
  5. Thanks for all the input. The trigger recommendation is well taken too, I hope to be able to have this boy spruced up internally adding a compliant trigger etc. so hopefully it will be taken care of.... Also, what's the best way to mount on an AK? I'd thought about a receiver cover with a rail and I know there are other options... Ha, we were posting at the same time....point taken on the receiver cover mount, thanks.
  6. Thanks Chile, that's exactly the kind of input I'm looking for. I understand practice is important no matter what else but unfortunately I'm one of those who has to drive a good distance to a range to do it. I can only dream about just walking out to the back yard... Having done some research on the three optics you mentioned I have to ask, might there be some useable options a tad lower in price? I hate to skimp or make compromises on anything but the fact is I have to at this point in time if I'm going to do it at all.
  7. My MAK90 will be my longest range firearm and I'm wondering the best way to go about maximizing it for "reaching out". I know there are better choices for long range but I don't hunt and I don't want to get into another platform or another caliber. I understand there will be limitations compared with other rifles. I know there are a lot of choices in optics, sights etc. What's the best way to go about maximizing the MAK for distance? Thanks!
  8. Here's my take. While most of us shoot for fun, target, hunt etc. let's say you find yourself in an unimaginable situation and you have to use your "922" weapon to defend your or your family's lives. You do, it does and before you know it you're downtown answering questions. The anti-gun media and DA get wind a demonic assault weapon was used to gun down another "child" (an 18 year old career criminal with a rap sheet as long as your arm) in our streets. If it were up to me to prove you suspect enough to charge you, compliance with 922r is one of the first things I'd check. And if you're
