  1. +1,000 with jetmech but I do profile the hole. It may not be necessary but that's me. Evl where are you? I thought you be chiming in as soon as the D-mod got mentioned. Don't make me lose faith bro!
  2. I would definitely get one for holding long but I wish I could find one with a modified choke integrated into it or a design that would let me use at least Saiga chokes. I know I can thread for internal but I don't want to at least at this time.
  3. I use a CSS performance puck but I've seen it work with everything. You do have to give up shooting 3" though but that's no issue for me personally.
  4. It really is that easy. That's me robbing myself outta local Biz. F it I'm not trying to rip anybody off. Just like race Glocks I tell em why? I'll do it but I'm trying to be fair.
  5. Well I'm not gonna do it anymore. But I'm sure I could make it run. Still you are correct, if it ain't broke right? I need to get another Vodka special just for this shit.
  6. Don't ever change springs. Ever! If it's not working with factory springs it's another problem. Not the spring tension. Just for giggles I put the reduced spring in and recoil increased dramatically.
  7. With the auto plug you can do it with a 109. So what's the difference? Get what you can and make it run. Most importantly have fun doing it.
  8. Either the spring or also check that the axis pin is all the way through.
  9. Listen to evl. His stuff runs like a sewing machine. +1 on the D mod. I had a mostly blocked port and after removing the gas block I opened the hole up 1 drill bit size and profiled it. I took very little metal only enough to expose the port and I really didn't take but a hair off when opening up the ports. Really it was just cleaning them up they were really bad.
  10. After I got mine running in stock trim I bought the kit and didn't use the spring. It was a big improvement. Now about the puck. I have a Auto Plug now and still use the CSS puck. It's my OPINION that the stock puck has that free movement and it slams into the op rod with force from the impulse of the gas as it enters and fills the gas block. The CSS puck stays in contact with op rod so it doesn't slam into it. It simply pushes it rearward. Like I said it's my opinion that this causes less stress on all the parts involved. Take it or leave it but to me it makes sense. Yes it is design to smack
  11. I agree, it's a kitten now and I just don't think it's gonna be worth the head ache. Plus I'm not fast enough to out run the gun accurately settling back on target. Maybe if I get more serious one day. I'm a tiny little garage shop that barely does any minor Saiga work like basic conversions and bolt and carrier reprofiling and correcting gas systems on Vodka guns right now as I'm fairly new to the platform. My personal S12 is my learning/test experiment gun. But one day it will be added to the specialty list. I'm not advertising because I'm not a Buisiness member yet so I'm not putting my nam
  12. You'll know when you shoot it. Mine had to be backed out a full turn because it sealed off my ports. Everyone of these guns is different some may function fine bottomed out some don't. I say enjoy finding out.
  13. To many beers forgot to update. Upload done.
  14. Attempting to post a vid to youtube and drinking alot of BEER!
  15. Cool, almost any publicity is good publicity, Almost. NO MASS SHOOTINGS PLEASE!
  16. OK, I was gonna post this vid here but I mentioned my biz like three times, I'm not a biz member here so I said I'll just put it on you tube. This thing has been uploading for like 45 minutes is this normal? It ain't very long.
  17. Keep in mind TAC47 says using 3" will cause undue wear to the Auto Plug. They don't suggest it.
  18. The only issue I've had ,well seen was when my wife tried to hold high to shoot it her trigger finger would push the BHO up under recoil and lock the bolt back. Take into consideration she is 5'1" and 108lbs and even with low power stuff it still knocks her around. I've tried and tried to teach her to shoulder it differently to no avail. She is fast and accurate with a handgun and carbine but some people I guess just ain't meant to use shotguns.
  19. I wish I could comment on this but all I have is second hand experience with a few friends that run some Bushnells and they seem just as good at 25 to 35 yards as my Eotechs and Aimpoints. Believe me I got lucky and got a Eotech I think it's a 552 it' the one with night vision settings and 2 AA's and a Aimpoint Comp M2 plus a Comp M4 all for free yes I said free! Inherited from a friend that passed. I still can't figure out which ones going on the S12. They are sitting in the safe collecting dust until I get that rail from CSS that replaces the rear sight. I'm a po old boy and I would have ha
  20. Evl, that's bad ass. I'd seriously be concerned about the curtains if you ever have to use that sucker inside a room though. I guess if that happened you'd obviously have much bigger things to worry about than a little charred curtain though, right? P.S. thanks for the advise on the mid barrel comp. I've decided to play around and see how soft I can get the recoil without it then make a decision. So I'm taking my 10 year old daughter to the gun club tomorrow for some daddy daughter range time and I'm gonna take some video. I may post my first video tomorrow.
  21. Thats a beast. Maybe I'll go that route. I'm not a serious competitor at all but I do shoot some local matches.
  22. Thats exactly what I was thinking. A joke right? So I said okay I'll bite and I was even polite.
  23. When you pull the charging handle back it will extract the shell from the chamber. The one of those claws with the spring is called the extracter. As the carrier and bolt move to the rear the shell will contact the ejector and kick the shell out. The shell will not go off by doing this by hand. The safety must be off to cycle the action so don't pull the trigger.
  24. But isn't that what the deflectors are for at the back of the Firebird? I know it also gives the gasses something else to work against but it definitely forces it away from the shooter.
