  1. USP,

I was about take exception to your explanation until I downloaded the manual from Kalinka and read it. It is much more detailed than the one I got with my scope. While my rifle shoots fine at 100yds using the top carat, I will definitely try adjusting the range with the top turret this summer at the range.

    Thanks

  2. I've had my .223 for nearly 6 months and have put about 800 rounds through it in that time. I had a stovepipe on my second round (reloads) and not a problem with Wolf steel case since. I can shoot a 2"-4" group with that ammo at 100yds. I have a POSP 4X24 scope on it but plan to use the open sights more this summer. It does ding up cases.

I did the trigger mods along with a Dragunov buttstock and definitely improved the trigger action (with a little polishing).

I'd go for it if the price is right. Hugo Chavez liked Kalashnikov's so much, he bought 100,000 of them. (AK-103's) Islamic terrorists swear by them too! :osama:

  3. Anyone know which parts need to be changed in order to be able to reload saiga brass?

If I remember correctly, some folks say the Finns made a rubber bumper for the aft end of the ejection port (for their Valmets) that prevents case denting.

Anyone have any personal experience with such a beast?

I found a photo. It doesn't look too complex.

  4. Sulpher,

I'm no ballistics guru but I'll bet if you use the top carat at 50, you will hit your target. Remember, a .223 round is leaving the muzzle @ about 3000 ft/sec.

50 yds is really close for that round.

  5. I have the 4X24 on my .223. Your 1"-2" groups can double at 100 yds, mine do.

At 100 yds, you should be sighting on the top carat, for 200 on the second one down.

Wolf ammo isn't the best but it works good enough for me for plinking.

My Saiga ain't no tack driver but as member "Bad Bob" put it (I believe it was Bob)

My gun shoots "one minute of perp" at 100 yards! :smoke:

  6. Ranger is goofing around somewhat but he is right.

Clean it as if you have shot a bunch of rounds through it already. You want to make sure that the barrel is totally unobstructed by

    anything applied at the factory.
