I've had my saiga for 2-3 years probably and bought it new. The hole isnt tapped, but it is drilled.

ah ok. so its better to just buy seperately. One last thing I forgot about. I have mine in .223 and there already is a hole for the bullet guide. Is this normal?

Well I think I am ready to take the dive. I've been reading the cross-conn article over and over and feeling good about it. UNTIL i came here and started reading, haha. I was going to get the conversion kit from k-var, but i don't see it mentioned much here. <Link Removed> But after looking, it looks like it's missing most of the FCG. I started to look at the kit on CSS's site and it looks like it doesn't have enough pins and the pistol grip screw. I'd like to do this cheaply if possible. Also, if I get the kit from CSS, do I have to take apart the disconnector like in the cross-co

Hey, another SW PA guy! I usually shoot long guns at an abandoned slag dump, so I don't have to worry about hunty types whining about evil black rifles. I'm from Greensburg, where are you? ha you're close. i live near washington. where is this dump at? I need somewhere else to go

exactly. and they are much more expensive to shoot.

wow. you are in the same boat as me. out here in SW PA, the range is full of hunters with bolt actions. And I do get looks of disgust when i bring out my sks or saiga. i want someone to say something 1 time so i can say "hey buddy. i shoot for fun, i shoot targets. You're the one shooting to kill something. grow up"

I'm sorta new here, are you a dealer? and is that the 16 or 20" barrel? Zack

I am going to get a Saiga for X-mas and i'm debating which caliber to get it in. I already have a SKS and i like how it feels and the recoil. I sorta want to get the .223 caliber. What kind of recoil does it have in the 16" barrel model? I do plan on getting the the shorter barrel option with the non adjustable stock. So any comments are very much welcome Zack
