  1. I'm just thinking of MANY things, and the versatility of using AK and AR mags in the same gun is simply unbeatable.... the availability of 223 ammo is good, AR mags.... its just a great combo. I'm wanting to set this gun up for an Appleseed Shoot this summer and really want to freak everyone out when I have an AK using AR mags
  2. so you're saying that my already installed bullet guide for use with the AK223 metal mags that I already have wont work if I put in an adapter? I just bought 27 AR mags to use with this conversion.... lord lord I hope I didn't f-up
  3. is the MSA removable? can you still use AK mags with it? like you can the Renegade? Can you possibly take some detailed pictures and stuff for me to look at? do you still need the dinzag bullet guide with the AR adapter??
  4. I would try to design somethin up but I cant find a shop that will work with me for nothin..... I've got an Ambi BHO designed that I cant find anyone to produce.....
  5. Hey yall, I am getting parts together to do a conversion on my 223 (have converted an S12 previously, so I know about the conversion ease). The thing I'm having issues with is finding a magwell that'll take AR mags. I know that there are some out there that will pop in, allow me to use AR mags, pop out and I can continue using the AK mags.... that is what I want. The problem that I am running into is that I can't find anywhere that still has them. It seems like Magnolia is not shipping anything and is nothin but a money hole at this point, and the 'buckmaster' (or whatever the guy's name
  6. I'm with Indy on this one.... I really hope that they'll be able to be retrofitted, dont really see a reason that they wouldn't be, just might have to replace a bunch of parts to do it though
  7. just got my Adjustable trigger in, and am AMAZED how nice it is

  8. I got a double rifle bag from LA Police Gear..... fits my S12, and S223, with lots of ammo and mags....
  9. I know that when I tore my gun down to convert that there was an awful lot of 'gunk' that had come outta that little hole and ended up in my handgaurd.... dont think I would've wanted any of it to stay inside the gun and possibly blow back into the reciever
  10. my first thought when reading that was "WHAT F-Ng WORLD ARE YOU ON!!!" its there as a pressure release and if you're having that much problem with low gas, send it to Tom at Cadiz and let him FIX it instead of blowing up and ruining your gun..... HOLY CRAP if someone actually welded that and didn't give the gas a safe place to go, they're a bloomin nut-job..... get a gas plug.....dayum
  11. I've run full power 2.75 slugs with the reduced spring and everything is fine... I adjusted the gas setting so that it was correct for it.... all was good (I do have the adjustable plug, buffer, and am converted)
  12. I have used both and they're GREAT....
  13. The thing that made mine work better than it ever has is media-blasting it..... it ran great as it was stock, then I converted it and it ran better.... then I media-blasted it to paint it and MAN that smoothed the action AMAZINGLY WELL, took abrasive pads to the edges of it as I was converting and that smoothed it out some, but media-blasting seriously smoothed everything so much better that it changed what numbers that I use on the Gunfixr gas plug..... and it doesn't hurt that the Duracoat looks KILLER on it, too bad I'm gonna strip it down and repaint it some other color (thinking mayb
  14. I left mine to cure for a week before shooting I dont think that you can bake the duracoat, but they have a dura-bake or somethin like that, that is meant to be baked on... if you call them they will answer any and all of your questions..... great guys to talk to. I will say that I had alot of issues trying to spray it with aerosol cans, just too thick for them to spray it smoothly.... I'm gonna be stripping the gun back down to paint it using my air compressor and an airbrush gun.
  15. I have it on the barrel of mine.... beadblasted it and painted it, works great after about 100 rounds
  16. if Cobra can't help, you might want to contact Jared at Mantis... I have a 'few' of his knives and use at least one of them every day (farm life requires the use of blades alot) www.mantisknives.com and it sounds like you're making a Vampire flick.... sounds like those lines could've been from Monster Hunter International as well..... any info available?
  17. actually, from the standpoint of a doublestack, it is ALOT harder than you think, I have looked into it. you have to have a channel for the rim on the back of the shell, and that causes issues when you start staggering rounds, they twist and jam.... not sayin it can't be done (please someone figure it out) but it sure as hell aint easy
  18. I guess I can see how the megwell would help to keep them from breaking, but really, how easy is it to manuever one of those things around??? have to have a seperate rifle case just to transport them to the range?
  19. HOLY CRAP you have to be joking..... the 10 rounders are too long for my person tastes (eventhough I own and use them) the 13rounders are so long they're breaking the lips due to hard recoil and the weight they're holding out there in mid-air.... there is NO WAY one of those could be easy to manuever... just too long and 'gangly', hell its almost as long as the gun, and has to be longer than one of Tony's 8" versions.... I'm just in absolute SHOCK, if you want that many rounds and want to develope a mag to hold it, go drum or stack mag.... that thing would get hung on every corner you
  20. I will be purchasing one for each conversion that I do to mine.... no doubt I also media blasted mine with the gun and painted it with the rest of the gun... no worries about it being inferior metal or anything goofy, looks great and man it was a great buy
  21. That book is so freakin awesome..... I bought a few patches and a signed copy directly from Larry after my wife read the book and wanted to start learning about guns.... Since she read the book, I have gotten a firing range here on the farm and become an NRA Pistol instructor I'm looking into getting my FFL, and have seriously considered building my own REAL Abomination if I get all the fun stuff......
  22. I am debating about getting my FFL and Manufacturer's License to aid with doing NRA firearms training. I would be able to sell guns to people that take classes from me, as well as to mfg parts and other various goods..... If this goes through I'm sure I'll be in contact with Cadiz....
  23. SOOOOOO, youre gonna be at the Machine Gun Shoot???? oh I can't wait, I can't wait...... I still haven't been able to get my gun refinished how I'd planned... but oh I can't wait... the night shoot is BADASS
  24. Is this book the one with the evil, horned smiley face on the cover that says M.H.I. 1895 or the other one with the guy pointing his shotgun at some monsters cowering at his feet? Or is that the same book with two different covers? I have the second one, but it didn't look that good to read... I guess I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. YUP, thats the book, by Larry Correia who happens to shoot a tricked out Saiga12 in competition and is a CCW instructor.... The gunplay in the book is FABULOUS, its easy to read, and just absolutely SMOOTH story-writing.... dude's GOOD so good th
  25. They're manufacturers (forgot which type) with a SOT that allows them to do that fun stuff. Oh crap I forgot all about the desert tiger stripe paint job! I'm in the process of reading this book for the 3rd time. I never do that. yea, one of these days I'll be able to do that.... dreams dreams... lol I'm still reading the book, I NEVER read books, and this one has me completely enthralled
