  1. you can always add the matte or satin clear coat to flatten everything and smooth out the template lines if you needed too........ looks good so far BTW... I'm getting ready to do some custom painting on mine, have all the duracoat sitting in the box. I'm just making sure that the conversion runs perfectly and everything is SMOOTH before tearing it back down to paint.
  2. I completly, whole-heartedly agree.... it is a great feeling everytime I look at it and see that I DID THAT..... and its not even dinished yet, I'm still workin on getting the gaps JUST right before I paint it up with all the duracoat that's sitting in the box next to it on the futon in my office..... it did remind me of 1 thing though, I put a limbsaver slip-on on the sporter stock SHORTLY after buying the gun a few years ago.... well, I now remember why, WOW does that Tapco folder sting when it wallops ya.... gonna have to shoot more so that my shoulder toughens up for the recoil be
  3. Man, I just completed my first conversion..... OMG that was EASY, I know that it looked a little daunting, but WOW... I could have gotten it done in 2-3 hours MAX if I had've sat down and done it all at once. Now mine was a simple, basic conversion, Tromix DIY TG, Tromix FCG, CAA PG (with the interchangable inserts), Tapco Folder, Chaos Puck, and Gunfixr plug. I still plan to file the inside of the PG a little more so that it fits nice and super-flush to the reciever, but even now with a small gap it is ROCK SOLID and shoots the REALLY LOWbrass Federal Walmart bulk-pack on the 1+ settin
  4. I just wish that they had more stuff listed on the site so that I'd know how to prepare.... I can't find anything but subgun KnobCreek matches on YouTube... If the Pistol and Shotgun stages are the same as the Subgun I should be fine (not that I'm gonna win, but should be prepared). The Spring 09 setup was hitting targets downrange through a window, then walking to the next window while reloading.
  5. Anybody shot this match before??? all help appreciated
  6. Is anyone going to shoot at the Knob Creek matches this fall? I'm thinking about doing the pistol and shotgun but have some questions about rules and what ammo/holster/how many rounds/blah blah blah........ Here is a link to the only info I can find. http://knobcreekrange.com/regforms.htm
  7. I know, I've read.... I've just gotta give ya a little hell. I've got a week off comin up next week (unpaid vacation... WOOOOOOO ) I'll see if I can't whip ya up a website template or somethin to get ya started if you want.... If my wife doesn't schedule me so tight around the farm that I can't breathe.... you make great stuff and I personally would like to get some of it, so it would jsut make it easier for me to see it all in one place. now that I think about it, I might be able to put it in a post in your section.... hmmm, PM me if you wanna give that a shot.
  8. apparently he doesn't, I was trying to find one...... all that kept comin up was the forum here..... I really think he could make some money if he setup a nice store...... hint hint
  9. Dont know about the handgaurd, but Cobra has a heat shield on CSS's site for sale... looks great, I'm probably gonna get one when I do my conversion.
  10. The only problem that I'm finding with duracoat is that it supposedly HAS to be sprayed on, I need to be able to brush on.....
  11. dang, ya figured me out..... I was gonna go with barney purple and lime green..... dang... ya ruined it for everyone now.... LOL
  12. http://www.houtsenterprises.net/dur_all_colors.html I just found this website that has ALOT of colors..... are there any other places?
  13. I've got some ideas on a conversion that I'm wanting to do, as far as the conversion... I've got all the basics on that, but on refinishing the gun, I'm still a little curious of the paints that are safe to use.... am I limited to the typical blacks, grays, and all that or are there some nice bright colors that are available... and I need them to not be in spray cans...... I know it sounds weird, but trust me, it'll look cool as hell if everything works out.
  14. what would be involved with getting a gun like that 6" bodyguard? I could almost conceal that thing.... WOW
  15. great writeup. I've really been debating about converting one of mine.... I really want to try it now....

  17. makes sence to me, sounds like it'd make for some work, but could pay off....
  18. looks like i may have to go to Knob Creek this spring..... eventhough I'll be broke as a joke, I may have to go just to see that.....
  19. I saw some T shot the other day at Sportsman's Warehouse..... I figured it was Turkey load or somethin.... I dunno.... I know it was 3"
  20. it never fails that when i go in there to pick up a gun, I spend an hour or 2 just standin there BS'n with Ed.....
  21. They are really nice folks, but the only one there that really knows his stuff on the S12's (that I have dealt with anyway) is Ed. There is a lady that I've talked to (can't remember her name) thats not very knowledgable on them. I have bought a 'few' S12's from them, and they come with the 5rd mags....... but if you call them, ask to talk to Ed, he'll be able to better tell you if they're currently in stock and shipping, or if they're on backorder again.
  22. HOLY SHIT, I need to move to WV.... or at least take the short trip to there...... WOW and I thought asking 800 each for my NIB was crazy right now while supplies are still comin in.... GEEZE
  23. now if you'll just throw an 8 inch barrel on that, and call it a pistol I'd be REALLY happy...... that'd be badass wouldn't it?? you've got some nice lookin parts man.... I'm very envious
