  1. Hey Syndicate, As Jim mentioned before, the check your feeding ramp. Mine was severely molested with a file "rasp" from the factory. It took me sometime to clean, fill, shape and polish the feeding ramp to a smooth transition from the mag to the chamber. Also a delicate deburring and polishing job of the barrel chamber to feeding ramp lip helps with shell loading. My bolt carrier was not bad from the factory but an additional deburring, fit and polish makes a difference in the gun cycling. Pay special attention to the bolt carrier to hammer interface, make sure that both component's su
  2. I use an #09 rubber O-ring and teflon tape at the threads. So far so good.... I'm thinking to maybe drill and tap the nut cap and put a hex set screw on the side to lock the nut in place.
  3. I'm using a DPH Billet Aluminum Stock with a 1.0" ACE Recoil ButtStock Recoil Pad. The recoil is minimal while shooting 1,600 fps Slugs, even after 80rnds. Also, I have a MAgpul MOE+ rubberized grip to minimize shock via the grip. For the muzzle, I simply have a Trulok tactical choke, more for looks than recoil.... I guess. The ACE recoil pad is superb, is 1.0" of very soft rubber, but only compatible with ACE, DPH, Tromix, CSS Raptor, and RJF buttstocks.
  4. Thanks all for your advices and recommendations. I think that been a new shotgun the barrel needs to be polished, I will give it a good polish with KG-2 Bore Polish specially at the throat of the forcing cone. Also as Jim suggested, passing the mop in between shooting sections should control some of the fouling deposits. For after the range clean up, I was happy with Shooters Choice Lead Remover, it made the clean up easier. But using Chore Boy Copper Scrubber was the game changer. I will prepare my own copper scrubber using an old bore brush. Also, I noticed that Midway USA has Bronze
  5. Good evening Jim, First, I used Federal Vital-Shok Trueball, 2 3/4" 1oz 1,600fps. Shot 25 rounds. Also after sighting the shotgun I used Winchester Super-X Rifled Slug, 2 3/4", 1,600fps. Shot 45 rounds. I don't think quantity of rounds was the issue, right? Maybe the Winchester Super-X Slug? I have considered buying a Hoppes Stainless Steel Tornado Brush but was a bit skeptical based on comments about bore wearing and scratching but I can trust your recommendation. Is it same as Brownell's?
  6. Thanks for the response Syndicate, Shooter's Choice Lead remover overnight treatment helped significantly. Last night while doing a bit more research I found out about using Chore Boy Copper Scrubber. I was fortunate enough to have some around the house so I made a small piece of it about the size of a cotton ball and push it down the barrel with the cleaning rod and 12 ga jag. Gave it about 5 passes and it was clear as new. A few patches with bore cleaner and CLP and good as new...! I will get a bore snake and give it a try next time. Give the Copper Scrubber a try, I was impress
  7. Good evening gents, As I have mentioned before, I'm new in the shotgun community. Today I took my MKA to the range for the first time. I have to report that it worked without flaws and very accurate. However that's where the honeymoon ended. The barrel, choke and gas system are severely leaded. I have not seen anything like this before..! Cleaning methods I have tried so far: Hoppes 9 with bronze bore brush.... ha ha ha! Break Free CLP with bronze bore brush..... seriously? Break Free CLP with oversize nylon bore brush after 15 minutes soaking..... some lead started to come

  9. Just want to share a few pics of my just finished MKA 1919 and the rest of my Black Rifle family. I think it blends really well with the rest of the boys. Last week I took the challenge of making my own MKA Quad Rail Handguard. It started as a two piece, full lenght 12", non floating AR-15 handguard, a few pieces of 1" aluminum square tube, 1/8" aluminum plate and lots of elbow grease. Finished it with high temperature satin black epoxy paint. It was a good excersice in patience and measurements but the end product is really rewarding. The top rail aligned perfectly with the upper receiver
  10. The MKA 1919 Gas System is based on the Remington 1100 design but that is where similarities end. Parts are not compatible including the Charging Handle. The Remington Charging Handle may fit into the MKA 1919 Bolt and Bolt Carrier and even set into the detent ball but it does not have the Slot Key of the MKA 1919 design. This key is locked in place by the Bolt during normal functioning, without it, the Charging Handle may move out of place..... The Remington 1100 Charging Handle uses a Notch instead of the mentioned Key. I don't have a Remington 1100 but have made my observations based on
  11. Good evening Cameron, Can you share with us how things are going with the MKA Handguard? I still don't see any link in your website to place an order. I will like a combo of the Handguard and the H&K sights. Best regards, JIM
  12. So you have to remove the OEM backplate to install your handguard, interesting. That's the only thing I have not remove from my shotgun. Do you explain how to remove it in your Handguard Installation Manual? Any special tools? Clockwise or CCW threads? What's the lead time now that you have double your manufacturing capacity?
  13. God bless your beautiful family Sir. I will have to agree with Syndicate, you have made the MKA 1919 look like a real firearm. It doesn't look like a bloated goofy AR! I really like the simple yet functional lines of the Handguard, it complements the shotgun quite well. A few questions: How much it weights? How well does it match the rails? How do you mount it against the Upper Receiver, need to remove the OEM handguard backplate? Cheers, JIM
  14. Simple to answer; choke and muzzle are not the same as you very well know Jim. I care less about a choke on a tactical shotgun but a muzzle brake is important to control recoil. Firebird Precision has a superb design (as seen on many pictures online) as well as the Tromix Shark Brake. Im very aware of Trulock, Carlson, and BlackBoreChokes among other tactical chokes..... I want to shorten my barrel down to 18.5" inclusive of the muzzle brake thus have to pin it and fill weld or silver solder it in place.
  15. With a permanent Muzzle Brake, you will not have access to the Gas Piston System. My recommendation is to make the hole ID for the barrel bigger so you can slide it over the OD of muzzle brake. Just my two cents....
