@Brian M1 I like the feel of the stock handguard but...their is no heat sheild and i do loads of shooting and after a while that hand guard has shown some signs of melting. I am a huge fan of what the AK101 looks like. ' @liberty-r-death Its Duracoated but wasn't sprayed well some shiny metal is showing through which isn't a big deal. Its okay for now but I'm sure alittle down the road I will change it.

Its from Saiga-ak.com very well made flawless but the finish doesn't quite match the paint, its to glossy. i want to do a full conversion on this thing. with a real retainer, gas block and fsb at some point.
-
A little better, got rid of the Tapco stuff...not really thrilled about the hand guard retainer, and the bolted on trigger guard... i really would like to pull this rifle apart and do things right...never done anything like that before but...for now i am pretty satisfied. I love this Red dot though!

Like as in partly corrosive? my gas tube on my .223 gets some very small amount of surface rust on bare metal worn by where it rides within roughly a day without cleaning? using Tulammo. could it be possible? But it could be temperature/humidity changes in my case however... -
Survey says, .5715" so that's the "normal" size, correct?
-
So i guess the first order of business would be to see what my barrel diameter is...now where on earth did i put my Vernier Caliper...hmm
-
I am deciding on getting a whole front block to install on to my .223. Don't really want to thread the barrel. Does anyone Sell a real Russian FSB That would work? Are the Bulgarian ones Identical? Thanks.

Ive owed a 995TS, great little plinker, mags are tiny and hard to load, surprisingly accurate, Gets very dirty fast, to the point it jammed on me a few times. Long as its clean it's alright. I sold it, wouldnt get another one...got mine for $50 from a friend, changed out the stock...put a milled alum. trigger on it...but eh... Saiga is way better choice all in all. -
yes ill try that, maybe tomorrow, your right, whats it gonna hurt?
-
Bought one for mine, installed it fired 30 rnds, 4 jams...took it out no jams...doesnt do to much from what i can see but make it less reliable. Others may have had better luck....I was worried about it when i was shooting brass cased XM193s but ive switched to steel...cheaper and it doesnt seem to have as much "slam" on the trunnion. anyone had any luck with different manufactuers of buffers?
-
My saiga has a spring loaded firing pin, id imagine all calibers do. I do know for a fact that my chinese norinco sks doesnt have a spring loaded pin, but my russian sks does...
-
yup no joke here took me about 5 or 6 months to find one all i could find was a used one...every shop i talked to either said "i can't get one" or "we used to sell them, we have the 12 guages" or "ill have a few in at the end of the week".....finally got one ordered, after bugging the hell out of my most local dealer, got it for $415!!! crazy, i said screw it paid the $ and was then happy....a few weeks later pass and my buddy finds one for $350! really?!
-
It runs good i atleast have had 500+ through mine no jams, nothing only thing is it will ding the cases upon ejection. If you reload thats kind of it for brass cases it puts a good dent in them. ive shot Federal tactical, Federal Tracers, Federal XM855s, Federal XM193, PMC M193 the 193s are good but seems to be alittle to much pop...huge flash which looks cool, and they are really loud...my 2 cents of the matter.

They banned a single caliber in Conn.? Seems odd they would ban one soviet caliber and not the other yeah you can't get the 7.62 in CT in an AK varient. I have an SKS that shoots 7.62, just stupid laws. no bayo lug, no folding stock....atleast theres really no magazine restrictions besides the whole 922r crap.
