  1. My clear 10 round mag has twice as much play as my black 10 rounder (1/4" side to side for Black, 1/2" STS for Clear). While annoying, I doubt it will affect functioning. Edited for Clarification: Side to Side play measured at the bottom of magazine, not at magwell (obviously)
  2. What the hell? I bought 250 rounds of this stuff for about $180 1-1/2 years ago. Overpriced, and they were a tight fit in my 1st gen AGP 10 rounders (a little more sanding will remedy this). They aren't worth the exorbitant prices you just quoted though.
  3. I had to go ahead and pick one up as well. I'll second the question of 2 3/4 magnum loads and reliability. "Nearly as strong as our black mags, but not quite." Does this mean the black mags are only barely holding up to 3" and 2 3/4 mag loads (My black mags have done just fine obviously)? Just a CYA clause? Anyway, can't wait until mine gets here.
  4. Brenneke KO's for $79.95 per 100rds, ouch. I'm glad I picked up 250rds at $1.98 per box of 5 at Dicks Sporting Goods awhile back while I could.
  5. HK Sights. I have them on my saiga-12, and if I could do it over, I'd probably go with something else. I can never be 100% sure of my point of aim. They might work for you just fine, but they don't suit me too well. Sub-gun HK sights, with large holes in the rear drum, versus small holes with the rifle sight drum, might be better on second thought. (sorry, train-of-thought post)
  6. For what it's worth, you were right on the money with this (I wasn't completely sold). I removed the extractor from the bolt head while cleaning the S12 before shipment to Tromix, reassembled and cycled the action, and the bolt turned and locked up smoothly.
  7. Mine was processed as an assault weapon with the whole MSP 9 yards and all. YMMV I guess.
  8. That is one hell of a display of superb customer support! I'll say I hope this wasn't perceived as a knock against Tromix quality. The gun looks and functions beautifully, but every now and then i'll get the problem described above.
  9. Mine is an earlier Tromix conversion, circa mid 2006 If I recall correctly. Is this a modification that has recently been implemented? My extractor notch looks very sharp/edged.
  10. When shooting/loading a magazine I never ride the bolt home. Yes, I do own and AK, and yes, thats what I was comparing it to . It didn't seem right to me, how much force it took for the bolt to make the turn. Thanks for the input.
  11. for low feeds yeah, but for high flyers into the extractor notch? I remember reading that thread awhile back, good info. One other problem I notice is I have a real tight bolt lock up. Hand cycling with slight spring pressure assisting wont seat the action all of the way, you have to give it one last smack to lock it up, or a lot of hand pressure. The bolt struggles to make the inital turn into the locking groove/channel, but once clear, moves smoothly forward the last 1/2" or so. I'm thinking the cam on the carrier may be off a little, or locking notches were cut a little tight (It's bee
  12. extractor notch right outside the chamber (see red circle in picture)? Occasionally i'll have the front of a shell get caught and smashed into this notch, deforming the front of the shell, a lot of the time to the point that a quick bolt slam will not chamber the round. Any tips? (I borrowed one of oldandslow's pictures from http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=22380 to help illustrate my point)
  13. Remember, all mags are legal here, you just can't buy/receive/transfer/build them here. What you can do is drive across state lines and come back with whatever. Possession isn't illegal.
  14. GOB, Mount Airy (Frederick Co.) born and raised, currently operating out of Falling Waters, WV (10 minutes outside of Hagerstown)
  15. $1.98 at Hagerstown Dick's in MD, but don't bother anymore, I hit them last night for 50 boxes, there are a few left toward the back of the shelf.
