  1. Ok, quick update, I'm past the 1K marked now, with primarily federal bulk pack stuff, which works well in the gun, although I'm going to open up the 3 gas ports a bit so it will run winchester I do believe. I have a TAC-47 plug in it, which does wonders when you throw a random 3" Fiocchi in there for fun when you pass the gun to someone else. NO change in the stock, nothing broken, it's been beat on some more over the past few days, riding in the truck etc. Good to go still.
  2. The mag, in this case an AGP will fail, I have no doubt about it, I've done it on accident before, the first one that failed actually was right when they launched, and it actually failed when the mag hit a barrier on approach, just tore the front lug right off. My point in these tests was to show that the stock shouldn't worry anyone in terms of failure, your 10 or 12 round mag is going to die first. The 5 round stock mags would have no issue, far less leverage, better materials, etc, but I have not confidence in the AGP mags. I don't own any SGM mags, are they made in a similar manner as the
  3. I've lurked a bit over the years, I like the snarkiness honestly, it's why I come back! It's much easier and less costly than converting to be sure. The only catch is it's a bullpup. For me, I love them, I own a few MSARS, and an RFB, so this was a natural move on my part. I practice the reloading drills over and over on these guys to get use to it. I'm not a huge fan of this stock with 10 round mags in it, they run into the pistol grip, nearly everytime, although I'm getting better at it, I think I need to go with a magwell when someone launches one that does require mag mods.
  4. Looks like 3 feet or so on to concrete is the normal military test. Your snarky, and uniformed comments convinced me to test it, for your viewing pleasure: Butt first from 3', twice: Pistol grip from 3', twice: As expected, the stock held up fine, say what you will about Bjorn's over-optimistics, or down right misleading shipment date expectations, he has built a good stock, made of good material, and engineered to relieve the stresses during firing and dropping. I should surpass 1000 rounds this weekend with it, weather permitting. The magazine is the weak link, at leas
  5. I think overall the material is fine. It doesn't flex under load, I'm up to around 100 rounds of 3" max dram equivalent, Fiochhi, 1-3/4oz loads, with a pile of Wolf Slugs, and Nobel buckshot, I think I'm around the 400 round mark if I had to guess, and it is holding up well. The force is distributed quite well internally, and although the webbing make look thin, the overall external material seems to be decent. I'm not sure what to do with it to abuse it more, perhaps drop it a bit and see what breaks?
  6. The optic rail shown in mine is actually the top half of a UTG Galil I had laying around. The Ultimak gas rail was going to be a pain to mount on this new gun. The Galil top rail was chopped to shorten it and then attach around the gas tube using u-bolts. Required quite a bit of dremel work on the U bolts and some reshaping of the bolts, but it seems very, very solid. Time will tell.
  7. Might be a bit until it's uploaded but: Needs more editing, we put around 200 rounds through it, The Saiga is a new one, needs a better gas plug to cycle with low brass, but ran well Remington birdshot and other brass. The stock seems good to go, mag changes are typical bullpup, I've got the 10 round mags down. I'm at the very end dumping the rounds right in a row.
  8. Here's mine built, shooting at 5 or so this evening, and will add that footage to build video. My wife is actually more impressed with it than I am. She always tires out shooting from her support hand. This thing, is very, very light on the front end. I need to find a rail for it as well, seems most people our out, anyone have a lead?
  9. Great wiki by the way, I'll likely make a video of the same and then add the range session tomorrow.
  10. See my stock image attached below, review and video to come
  11. No idea on the V part of the name. Tang has to go, which kind of sucks, because taking it back to the AK style is a no go. Not worried about the 5 round mags, using them and being 922R compliant is more difficulty than it is worth IMHO.
  12. I'm personally glad to help a mfg get a product going. $200 is nothing to help moving something forward that I believe in.
  13. Mine arrived today, I'm currently impressed with the build matieral, I'll echo some of the same issues previous posters have, but the material used is not one of them. I have all Saturday morning to put shots down range, will do so and post videos of the epic failure or success. I have a popular Youtube channel, so it maybe a make or break for the guys, we shall see. Anyways, 500 rounds of ammo, from birdshot, to slugs ready to go. More to come.
  14. Their also not supposed to issue patents on preexisting items that have been available to the public. I have a combined total of over 100K views on my 2008 videos of the same device for an AK (his application date is '09 my videos are '08) . But hey what do I know CSSpec, I took a look at your video, and it looks like yours is indeed the same idea. The PTO only evaluates prior art that they have access to. Since you can show prior art, you could easily pursue slidefire for infringement of your design, and collected payment for each stock they have sold, assuming judgement w
  15. Looks like Slidefire has a patent too: http://www.google.com/patents?id=eP7fAQAAEBAJ&zoom=4&dq=rifle%20stock&pg=PA1#v=onepage&q=rifle%20stock&f=false Here's Bill's patent: http://www.google.com/patents?id=RhoDAAAAEBAJ&pg=PA20&dq=rifle+ininventor:akins&hl=en&ei=3DhBTruUHKrj0QGh5bDxCQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CCkQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=rifle%20ininventor%3Aakins&f=false Apparently the PTO didn't think Slidefire infinged, that said they aren't the best at that part. The difference is basically the sprin
