Will the Chaos upper handguard use the stock gas block?

Update on the AK Big Dot: Picture is a bit difficult to see, holding the rifle with one hand and a phone in the other under less than ideal lighting does not make a decent pic. Initial impression: very quick target acquisition. For a shotgun, I think it'll shine. No tests done yet, I just installed it.

Heyo! Nothing fancy on mine. Missing front and rear sights (ordered, but might take a while due to the scare). Magpul MOE short grip and short rail, Hogue ergo grip with storage compartment, E93 v3QD sling mount. SGM 10 rounder.

I an envious of you all with collapsible stocks. I'd like to change mine out, but am stuck with fixed stocks in my area of the woods. Digging that UBR something fierce!

To remove the original drum, I put some WD40 on one side of the drum, let sit for a few minutes, and did the same with the other side. I was going to do an overnight soak, but got impatient and used a tapco AK tool. I applied extra torque via locking wrenches on both sides of the tool's rod. Heard a snap sound and thought I broke something, but I guess it was the drum starting to move. Tapped out what the tool could not reach, and bam, no more stock drum. Screwed in the front sight to make sure it fit and chose that orientation as "up" (per the instructions), removed the front sight, and p

Here are the XS Express rear sights. Front drum is currently marinating in oil, I'll post pics when I install the new drum and Big Dot.

I installed the XS rear express sights, fit like a glove. I am having trouble removing the front drum, once I get them out and install the Big Dot drum and front sight, I will report back with pictures.

I removed the front sight, but the drum won't come off via tapco ak tool or punch. Is it red loctited from factory?

Used five ten rounders today. Ran 100 rounds through them (each magazine used twice). One magazine had a sticky follower (loading the magazine was tough, follower was not springing up or got stuck on the way up, etc), and failed to hold bolt open on the last round on the first empty cycle. Each magazine was initially tough to insert. That said, they are now easier to insert (though a couple are harder to insert them others) and followers all seem to be smoothened out. I'll break them in some more and hope all the kinks get ironed out. So far, happy with my purchase. Used Federal 00

Gentlemen, I too am very eager to receive my magazine, but in the spirit of the season, I ask that we stop emailing and calling the stores, if only until the holidays are over. Yes, we'd like to have our magazines... Yes, we'd like to have our pre orders arrive in a timely fashion... ...but these good folk are doing the best they can. They asked me how long the rear sight is. Can anyone measure the rear sight length? I am at work, so I can't measure it now, but if no one has the specs I can measure it this evening and call XS tomorrow.

XS Big Dots were on my radar as well, but the rear sight might be too long as well. I may give them a call soon and report back here. I also contacted Texas Weapons Systems regarding a VEPR-12 dust cover/ rail, and they replied: So another option would be to use their railed cover and peep sight with a tritium front sight. Again, I'll report back so the rest of you shotgun-heads can accessorize your new toys
