Id run it with some full power loads and then just give it a bit of time. It should smooth out with some use. If this doesnt help, then it may be time to polish the internal contact areas and go from there. I don't mind a little polishing, I'm just hoping I don't have to redrill the ports. Have there been any reports of issues with the gas ports being undersized?

Just took my Classic purchased Vepr 12 folder out for the first time yesterday and had about 35% FTE rate with walmart federal. I'm pretty bummed about it. I have a SGL12 that I had to redrill the ports and profile the BC and FCG and install a Tac47 auto plug in order to get proper function with cheap ammo. I was fine with that because expectations were low. However, a lot of places are advertising full reliability right out of the box from the Vepr 12 and I had high hopes for that to be true.

I decided not to go cheap and get a nice side rail mount and I chose the MI AK mount because it was low profile and I read somewhere that they centered over S12's. Well it doesn't center over mine. It's too far to the right. So far, that it contacts my dust cover and has already worn a mark into it. =( Now what? Is there a way I can adjust or fix this? Thanks

I plan on using a cheap UAG Red Dot that I already own. I read that the BP-02 can cause FTE issues with the S12 in this thread: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/27250-anyone-using-the-belarus-bp-02-mount-successfully/ He mentions that the shells hit the mount; not just his EOTech. I prefer gastube-rail... Me too, but I don't want to permanently modify my front sight to install one. Unless you know another option? The low profile version of the BP-02 seems to be out of stock on Kalinka.

Looking for recommendations for a side rail optics mount, I know there are a few options available and I would like to hear some opinions. Are there any to avoid? Thanks!

I just bought a new SGL12-09 and I would like to mount a Red Dot on it without changing the front handguard and rail setup. It does have a side optics mount but I'm not sure if I want to go in that direction. I like the idea of the Ultimak Gas Tube Rail but I don't like the idea of grinding, drilling, and tapping my front sight. Is there anything available that doesn't require permenant modifications? If anyone has any other ideas, I'd like to hear them. Thanks!

I'm looking to buy a converted S12 but it seems like stocks are limited, is there a chance that a local gun store might have one for a reasonable price? Or is my best bet to try and find one in stock online? BTW I'm in Atlanta
