  1. Would not hesitate to purchase from him again, awesome to deal with.
  2. Need to replace gas tube on Saiga 7.62 - anyone have anything to sell or reccomend?
  3. The folks on these forums rock! You could not find a better bunch to help out us "newbies"!! Many thanks to you all for being here. All I can offer as a newb myself is to get the spreadsheet based on vjor's post. It greatly helped simplify the parts count beyond belief and to much relief!
  4. Thanks guys! Yes I did originally think the SureFire (sorry I know I said Promag later) would count but when received was correctly skeptical after examining them.... With the awesome instructions Louielouie provided the PG and FCG group conversion is about to happen so the mags will not be an issue, but with the price of the MasterMold mags he turned me onto I ordered some anyway. Jim, thanks for the heads up on the handguard.
  5. Yes Louielouie, and again thanks for all your help!!!! You are truley an asset around this place! I'd like to let you know you have now inspired both myself and a buddy to move ahead. Everytime I "think I understand" something comes up making me wonder... I have a couple Promag 30 rounders I wanted to try out so replaced the piston right off the bat thinking when they arrived I'd be OK using them... Personally I am skeptical about the promag as the two I received DO NOT indicate anywhere they were made in the US. So have been just using stock 10 rounder until ready to dive further into
  6. Thanks 22. But let me ask, perhaps I have been incorrect using the 30 rounder (us made - count as 3 complaince parts, correct?) plus piston has already been swapped out, getting me quite simply down to 10 imported parts.... Now the conversion continues with trigger, PG, and furniture, but in the meantime am I not already compliant with this config??
  7. Will these parts work w/ my PG 7.62 conversion??? http://dpharms.com/5-piece-us-compliance-p...grip-p-127.html Thanks in advance!!!
  8. A year after getting my first Saiga 7.62 I think I finally know what I wanna do and just need a plan now.... Would like to go with the K-Var kit Stock kit I want! What would it take getting this (or perhaps similar) furniture mounted??? Can I continue using my 5/10/30rnd Surefire/Saiga mags w/o modifying them as well? Thanks!!!
  9. I've tried the side mount and really did not like it - heavy, awkward, and in the way. Has anyone ever tried one of these found off of Ebay???? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...B:WNARL:US:1123
  10. Thanks again for all the info, I love this place!! Will let everyone know how we end up in doing in about 8-9 weeks.
  11. Thanks Vjor, great info!! This will be my first pig hunt as well so the links and info are most usefull. From what I see there should be no worries about the Saiga drawing it's first blood for my stepson on this trip - Hehe! Not sure what he'll enjoy more, being able to use my Saiga or getting his first kill!
  12. I'm taking my 15yr old stepson on a hog hunt in Texas (a Christmas gift to him). He's itching to carry my Saiga 7.62. I know we'll be hunting from a stand and at ranges well under 100 yards. We've put a nice scope on it and he does VERY well at the 100 yard range with it.. Will the Saiga in 7.62 allow him to drop a hog in it's tracks or would I be better off borrowing a 30-06 for him to use? This is one of his first hunts and I sure want him to be able to come home with a couple pigs, not loosing them should they be as hard to bring down as some say!! I believe I was told the average s
  13. Has anyone tried these in an "un-modded" Saiga? Yes, I know hicaps are a no-no in un-mod's, this more of a question as to how well (if) they would even work.. The stock Saiga fits the bill just fine for me as it is so this is just a curiosity question, in fact it's a 5 rnd mag I was searching for to make it legal for any kind of varmit popping! http://jocoemprise.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Sc...ct_Code=SG76230
  14. Some first-hand experience with my new HP 995.... The factory stock IS ugly as heck, but actually pretty comfortable to shoot. The ATI stock takes some tinkering to put on, but not bad..... An hour or so with a dremmel and it's on. Looks SO much better and still comfortable and FUN to shoot. Been shooting Remington 115gr MC rounds, several hundred rounds now with NO failures to feed or eject. One hundred percent so far. Have not yet tried any other ammo, but would feel comfortable using this inexpensive little carbine with this ammo in any SHTF situation... ATI customer service
