To vets, it's a big part of their lives and who they are. OP, I have this exact setup. I really like it, the only thing was that I had to blu-loctite the castellated lock nut (which also requires an AR stock wrench to tighten BTW). It's comfy, especially with the scorpion grip. I used the CSS conversion kit and retainer plates. I also picked up an autoplug, aftermarket puck, light spring (for birdshot), and extended mag release from with CSS or MAA I can't remember which, I think it was a mix of the two companies. The reason I mentioned Tramontina, is it's a work machete. It's not cool looking, it's not custom, but as a former surveyor I used them every day. I've had condors, I've had ontarios, and I've had no-name hardware store machetes, I've had tacticool cold steel (lasted about 2 days). But the brass tacks are, for me, I still own that 18" wood handled Tramontina. It still does it's job, everything else had broken or not lived up to my expectations. Your mileage may vary however. They're made in Brazil, there's a lot of jungle down there if ya catch my drift.
